  • Masters trip at Lake Oconee and Cuscowilla

"We used this condo as 'home base' for a Masters family trip. I've stayed closer to Augusta in the past but the traffic and congestion, along with the high prices led me to do some research and we chose this condo as an alternative. We are so glad we did. The level of amenities, location and quality of the home made this an excellent value. The condo is well situated with everything a group needs to cook etc. The rooms were all clean and nicely decorated. There is a huge picture window overlooking the lake. We had coffee each morning on the balcony overlooking the lake. Evening walsk around the Cuscowilla grounds were fantastic. There are a couple of nice restaurants and bars withing walking distance so we didn't have to drive into town every night. All in all this was a fantastic place."

  • Do we have to leave?

"Our group ( a small rowing team on a winter training trip) just got home to NY after having spent a week at Da Casa BaNana2. To a person, 19 of us in total, we were all tremendously sad to leave. The house is bigger, cuter, lovelier, better appointed and with more amenities than are described. Every turn leads to a lovely surprise, you get so much more than you expect or hope. Despite the unseasonably cold weather which kept us inside far more than expected, we had tons of space and unused bedrooms. 4 gas fire places in communal areas made for trouble free warmth and ambiance. A huge walk in scullery, complete with its own oven, microwave, dishwasher, sink, refrigerator and pantry doubles the size and capacity of the beautiful granite counter top and ss applianced kitchen that you see in the photos. Off to the side of the tremendously fun games room (thoughtfully and whimsically decorated) is a large movie theater with seating for 16, surround sound, 85" projector screen, hooked up to satellite tv, netflix, a blue ray player, or hook up your own laptop etc. Every one of the bedrooms have bathrooms ensuite, and each has been lovingly and thoughtfully decorated by the owners in State themes. The large attached 3 car garage has been converted into an indoor basketball court. The owners were delightfully friendly, yet unobtrusive and quick to respond to questions. Many of the rooms had balconies overlooking the lake which gave the house a resort type feeling. I could go on and on, but simply put - this house is a treasure. Don't hesitate for a second, book it now - we are already planning our return in 2016!"

  • Golfing holiday - playing and watching the Masters

"This was a perfect venue for our group of 7 golfers. We played on the excellent courses dotted around Lake Oconee, and travelled 3 times to Augusta to watch the Masters (c. 80 miles each way). The house is fantastic - very large, bright and well-equipped. We were very active during the week and ate out most of the time, so we didn't really have a chance to make full use of the facilities, such as the two kitchens and games room (although we did manage one barbeque and one pool tournament). Would particularly recommend Gaby's By The Lake for a warm welcome and a good selection of food and beers."

  • Light, sunny golf cottage on Great Waters Golf Course/ Lake Oconee

"I think the first thing that really hit me about this cottage was the wonderful natural light bleeding in though the windows and sliding doors. It's the kind of place you can stay without feeling closed in on a rain day. Just a few steps off a deck set up for grilling, and you’re on the golf course. From the master suite and from the living room, sunrise is breathtaking through the mist coming up off the green and pines surrounding the cottage. It’s not unusual to spot deer crossing in the early mornings. I’ve come back here a few times just to have a quiet place to work. It’s comfortable. I bring my own pillow, assorted devices, and my dog. We walk the path around the lake and it’s just gorgeous. There’s a shy blue heron that sits on one of the docks. A sudden move and he lifts up and flies to the next dock. He does this with no effort. His wingspan must be five feet. We always look for him. The grounds are meticulously and constantly tended. The neighborhood is gated. And the rocking chairs on the front porch under the kitchen windows give you a sunset view. A light stream of golfers pass throughout the day. I don’t golf, but I’ve grown accustomed to the crack of the clubs connecting at the 8th hole behind the cottage, and the drink and sandwich cart quietly making its rounds. The kitchen is stocked with non-stick pots, pans and plenty of utensils. If you’re a chef, bring your own knife and skillet, but all the basics are there. There’s a smart TV in the main room to access Netflix and Pandora accounts, cable from UVerse and WiFi. Restaurants nearby and food delivery is available. Nice community. I always look forward to coming back."
