  • Great cottage in the best Atlanta neighborhood

"As a former resident of Atlanta, I am very familiar with the Morningside/Virginia Highlands neighborhood. It is by far, the most desirable, in-town neighborhood in Atlanta, and is close to ALL activities. The cottage was just perfect for me and my 2 children for our 3 week visit. The house was well furnished and comfortable and Jim was very accommodating. We will certainly stay in the cottage on our future visits!"

  • Lovely, tranquil, comfortable retreat!

"We spent a perfect week at this fabulous house in Sandy Springs and just wish we had scheduled it for two weeks. Our group of 8 woke up every day in comfortable beds to lovely views and complete quiet (we provided the noise!) Every amenity was available and the views out every window were gorgeous. Felt like we were in a 5 star tree house! The owner responded to our emails and phone calls promptly and he obviously takes pride in this home. The pool was perfect and added so much to the appeal of this property. Originally we were to be a group of 10 and we would have been quite comfortable at that size, too. I kept thinking what a great place this would be for a retreat of some sort; there are places to gather and places to spend quietly apart from the others. Most of our activities were in the city, and the commute was quite easy each time we had to drive in. The airport commute was also easy, which added to our peace of mind. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

  • Fun Family Weekend Getaway

"We had a great time!! Thank you to Carol and Tom for allowing our family to share your beautiful home. The house was just as described, we really enjoyed our time there, our only regret is that we didn't have more time to stay there. We would definitely recommend this house, it has all you need and then some. The communication with Carol was fantastic, i really appreciate it. We would absolutely return if the opportunity arised!! The house fit 13 of us comfortably and the view of the lake was spectacular, my husband and son went kayaking and really enjoyed it. Once again, thank you!!"

  • Great Place for Vacation

"Our family had a great time at this house. The owner was fantastic to deal with and the house was large, clean and well maintained. I would recommend this house for any family or group that wants to experience a great vacation. We rented a Pontoon boat, fished off the dock, grilled outside and had a great family week-end."

Metro Atlanta, Central & Southern Travel Tips

Get Away to Georgia Vacation Rentals

For a refreshing away-from-the-rat-race vacation, central southern Georgia is hard to beat. It is very easy to access, has warm sunny days for most of the year, and the beautiful natural scenery just begs to be explored and enjoyed. Renting a comfortable Pine Mountain log cabin or Lake Sinclair vacation rental in Georgia is the perfect escape for a weekend or longer, allowing visitors to completely relax and recharge their batteries.

Choosing Your Georgia Lodging

A log cabin or vacation home gives plenty of flexibility in both size and location. Choose a quiet retreat where you will not be disturbed by noisy neighbors in the next hotel room. Vacation rentals come in all sizes to suit couples, families or groups of friends on a budget sharing the accommodation. Set in popular locations for exploring the area, vacation homes have all the extras such as a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor sitting area, books, games and more than one TV. They are ideal for those who want to prepare their own meals and follow their own timetable, getting up and eating when they choose to.

Things to do From Georgia Vacation Rentals

Southern central Georgia has plenty of historical and architectural sites for history-lovers to enjoy. There are many old homes and mansions, such as the Old Governor’s Mansion in Milledgeville which was home to 10 Georgian governors and became Sherman’s headquarters during the Civil War. History-lovers will also enjoy a trip to Meadow Gardens in Augusta, the former home of George Walton, the youngest signatory on the Declaration of Independence. The area has many theaters and arts venues, including the Douglass Theater at Macon. Visit the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia on the outskirts of Athens or simply head out on an adventure of your own in the Oconee National Forest.

Kayaking, boating, waterskiing, wildlife viewing, fishing, rock climbing, biking, swimming and plenty of golf courses are all close to your Georgia lodging.

Getting to Central Southern Georgia

The nearest major airport is the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport at Atlanta. Rent a car and head out on your Southern Georgia adventure. Alternatively, south central Georgia is easy to drive to from many of the south eastern states.

Places to Visit in Central Southern Georgia

Follow the US 441 to Macon, known in this area as the Antebellum Trail, and enjoy all the historic elegance and architecture of the Old South. Buildings have been beautifully renovated and the historic homes offer interesting guided tours. In March, the city’s cherry trees are laden with blossoms, making a beautiful sight. Spend time at the Macon Music Hall of Fame which pays tributes to such great musicians as Ray Charles, the Allman Brothers Band, James Brown and Otis Redding. The Museum of Arts and Sciences, the Museum of Aviation and the Harriet Tubman Museum of African-American Art and History offer a varied choice of things to see.

Athens is home to the University of Georgia, rock groups REM and B-52 and, consequently has a thriving entertainment scene. It also has some interesting remnants of antebellum Georgia in its historic buildings. Augusta is well known to golf-lovers for hosting the Masters Tournament but it also has a pleasant waterfront and historic downtown district.
