"This lovely house is well-furnished and comfortable. There is a large deck across the back overlooking the marshes, partially shaded. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped. We found the home very clean. Although we did not use it, there is a very nice pool beside the house.
We enjoyed our walks around the area and watching the birds on the marshes. One morning a wood stork flew over and then landed in a tree by the marsh. We sat watching each other for quite a while. This was our second visit to this home, and I'm sure we will return again."

"After 4 exciting pre-St. Patrick's Days in Savannah, my husband and I arrived into the calm and quiet of Darien. The contrast was profound. Andy has designed High Tide Cottage to be as welcoming as our own home. He'd thought through every comfort, including fresh local shrimp in the fridge. We wanted privacy and peace, and that's what we got. When we'd regathered our travel chops, and figured out which barrier islands we wanted to visit -- Sapelo, Cumberland, Jekyll, St. Simons -- we knew we could go with the reassurance that we had a cottage to which we could return with utter comfort. The week was wonderful. Every evening we walked or rode (thanks to High Tide bikes) toward Fort King George, where one day we watched a terrific, Scottish reenactment. We bought fabulous grass-fed Georgia beef from the shop across the road, and grilled steaks out on our terrace. We dined at nearby seafood restaurants. Andy was greatly helpful with local advice and lore -- an excellent host. We will return."

"I walked in and felt right at home at the Red Door Cottage! It's such a warm, inviting environment and the town has some great spots within walking distance. There many opportunities for sightseeing, biking, boating/kayaking and relaxing at a beach just a short drive away. I can't wait to return and bring friends for a girls' weekend!"
