"My seven year old son and I just returned from a week's stay at Sunset Isle. The setting is beautiful with stunning sunsets and the peaceful marsh. Having vacationed on Tybee several times and always being right on the beach, this was our first go at staying on the marsh side. I was a little hesitant, as I considered it to be "off the beaten path." Linda reassured me that it was not and she was absolutely right. I forget how narrow Tybee is. The beach is four very short blocks away (a five minute walk.) and you can hear the ocean from the deck of Sunset Isle. Although we chose to sea kayak near the lighthouse, the winding creek takes you to the Tybee river (flows into the Atlantic) and would be an easy trip across to Little Tybee. Check it out on Google Earth. As mentioned, the location is central to many restaurants. We walked to the Sugar Shack for ice cream. Lighthouse Pizza does deliver and is delicious. The house itself is clean and in good repair. As mentioned in other reviews, the decor is somewhat tired and a little dated; however, as this property is pet friendly and very family friendly, it makes perfect sense. Sunset Isle is clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. As one of two townhomes, you do not feel as though you have a shared wall. It is very private, but great to know that the owner is right next door. We look forward to returning."

  • AMAZING PLACE

"What a perfect location and perfect house. The house is in such a fantastic spot, right at the end of the island. It is walking distance to the end of the peninsula where the Atlantic meets the bull river and one block from the Atlantic beachfront. Low tide here at the end of Tybee is a special place because of the many sandbars and tidal pools (pay attention to the tides and be safe). The house is immaculately appointed with a very functional kitchen and living room. The beds were extermely comfortable. We had four children and four adults. I wouldn't recommend this house for more people than that. The porch is nice and the elevator is very convenient for groceries and luggage. We grilled on the Charcoal grill several nights and made a crock pot dinner. Having the pool is really great for families with kids, especially after spending several hours at the beach. I suggest you bring some citronella candles if you want to hang out on the deck at night. Also, suggest a wireless speaker since there is no way to stream music at the pool or house. You can walk to the pier from here as well as several restaurants. We brought our bikes which were really great to ride on the sand at low tide."

  • Perfect family vacation!

"This was our sixth trip to Savannah and second time to stay on Tybee Island in Building A. We stayed here with our 12-yo daughter and 15-yo son for a week in October. The condo was spotlessly clean and well appointed for our stay. I wanted to take the bamboo cotton sheets, tempurpedic mattress pad and bed pillow home with me - honestly the best sleep I've had in a long time. Working with Donna on booking, check-in and check-out, etc. was a breeze. We had the privilege of meeting LaTrelle, the owner, during our stay. She is charming and shared with me where she purchased the items for the bedroom. We would definitely stay here again the next time we stay on Tybee and would happily recommend the unit to friends and family. We ate out only one night during our stay and we chose the Crab Shack. It was ok. Service was fair; it was obvious that the server assumed that since we were a family and not ordering multiple alcoholic drinks, she wouldn't get a decent tip (she was wrong) and was not very attentive in refilling drinks, checking to see if we needed anything. I shopped at the IGA on Butler Avenue for groceries. For a smaller-sized store, there was a very good selection of fresh foods, produce and staples. We enjoyed the beach, both at the property and down by the lighthouse and went down there every morning. We saw lots of dolphins jumping in the water. Ft. Pulaski is another of our favorite sites to visit. We hope to be able to return to Tybee again next year and will definitely try to book this unit for our stay."

  • Great Stay at Artist Cottage

"Can't say enough good things about this place. We loved it the moment we walked in. The apt is well laid out and very comfortable. Although small, there was plenty of room for my wife and I. Two very comfortable couches for reading and relaxing. Also the decorating is is just first class all the way. The art on the walls really gives the place a feeling of warmth and luxury. The kitchen had every conceivable gadget needed plus plenty of spices, seasonings etc. Elizabeth had left a basket of snacks and a welcoming bottle of wine. Even had a leash and snacks for our dog. The deck is nice for morning coffee or even lunch and dinner if the weather cooperates. I really hated when our month was up and had to leave the heavenly king bed. Sleeping there was like relaxing on a cloud. Wonderful. Also plenty of closet space and dressers for lots of extra clothes. The closeness to town was also a plus. We usually walked and could get to restaurants, shoppes and waterfront in about 10 minutes. The only issue we had was with internet connection and Elizabeth had it fixed in 15 minutes. Just could not have asked for anything more."
