  • Great House!

"We had a beautiful week in St. Mary's, GA Very comfortable and homey cottage - we enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was just my husband and I, but two couples could stay and maintain privacy as the bedrooms are separated and each with a bath. The cottage was very clean. We loved the close proximity to the Cumberland Island Ferry. Also, pretty close to Savannah and FL. We went to both! I would recommend Slip Away to anyone."

  • Wonderful base for adventure!

"An incredibly roomy place to use as a base to visit the Florida beaches and man state parks in the area. My wife, daughter and I rode our bicycles in the area almost every day, enjoying the biker friendly roads. Only 30 minutes from beaches and major airport, with numerous excellent restaurants within walking distance. The loft is on a very quiet street with every amenity you would ever need. Loved St Marys and loved the place. We'll be back!"

  • Wonderful Thanksgiving holiday at the Artist's Bungalow

"So charming was the bungalow. Quaint and tastefully decorated. Clean. All over. Every corner. Well maintained 50s-era bungalow. The beds were like comfortable clouds. Brass in the master. White poster in second bedroom. The furniture was an eclectic mix of antiques from various periods, cleverly placed and used for various purposes of storage. Fine art hung from most of the available wall spaces. Fine fine art. Beautiful paintings displayed in high quality frames. Loved waking up here. Cooked a few meals and found the kitchen well stocked with surprising items such as olive oil and full carousel of spices. Snacks. Soft drinks in the fridge. Loved the stained glass window panes hanging from many of the windows. The golden wood floors were clearly the bungalow's originals. From the 1950s? The bathroom with its original tiles. You don't see this often. I wonder how the ceramic tiles survived so many decades so well cared for? Fresh flowers in vases in every room. It's the details. All in the details. Heirloom dining table. Felt like I was at my grandmother's house. Wind chimes on the back porch sounded like angels were calling. Bird feeders brought birds into the backyard. A cute small fountain next to the vintage garage. Sunny lacy curtains with rose motifs. The heater kicked in and heated the place well, in a short amount of time. Loved it. Would go back in a heartbeat. Will definitely tell my friends and colleagues about such a wonderful stay. Felt safe the entire visit. The bungalow is situated within easy driving distance to both St. Mary's and Cumberland Island Visitor's centers. A Winn Dixie is within maybe a mile. Publix is in nearby Kingsland."

  • Perfect in Every Way

"This was the destination for our annual sisters’ trip, and it was fabulous! We were only one block from the riverfront and downtown area, but it felt as if we were on a secluded island. The home is situated on the Marsh, and the yard is landscaped with palm trees, moss-draped oaks, and southern pecan trees as well as a gazebo. There are ample chairs and swings on the wrap-a-round porch, and we enjoyed sittings on the side porch overlooking the marsh watching the boats passing, daydreaming about where they were going, or just hanging out with an evening drink. The house itself is wonderfully decorated with antiques and comfortable furniture. The floors looked like original heart of pine, there were tall ceilings throughout and just about every room had a ceiling fan. The beds were super comfortable, and the linens were more than adequate. We have never, and I do mean never, stayed in a home that was this immaculately clean. You can walk to the riverfront to catch the ferry to Cumberland Island, or to eat at one of the many restaurants. Also, the waterfront park is a great place to spend a few hours. The owners, Don and Linda go out of their way to make sure your vacation is the best ever. We so enjoyed the ripe tomatoes you left for us on the window sill. Thanks so much, Don and Linda."
