  • Thanksgiving in the Mountains

"My husband and I booked this cabin for a holiday visit with long-time family friends now living in the area. Dancing Bear's warmth and comfort was exactly what we hoped for, and the owners were great to deal with. We didn't have an opportunity to enjoy the hot tub, but maybe next time. We are eager to return to have more time to visit the wineries nearby. TIP - arrive before dark or with a bright flashlight to find the walkway and key. As "city-folk" we weren't quite prepared for the total darkness, and could have had a challenge finding it without GPS. No pizza deliveries in the area either. Arrive with provisions or daylight time for stocking up. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking, with gas grill as well."

  • Perfect Little Piece of Heaven

"This cabin is very special to us. We have stayed several times over the years and it fits our family of 5 just perfectly. It has all the basic necessities of home and is centrally located to Vogel State Park, Helen Ga., Brasstown Bald and white water rafting on the Ocoee. You will not be disappointed."

  • Very peaceful

"The location is great - very secluded and peaceful. It's tucked away at the end of the road. You can't see any other homes from the property and the only time we heard neighbors was when they mowed their grass. One of the most relaxing places we have stayed in quite a while. We were able to sit by the creek in summer without bugs buzzing around us which was nice. The yard looks like a state park area and is spacious enough for kids to play. The description says that he creek is at the end of the drive but it was actually closer than I expected and could be heard from the porch. Although clearly an older home, the house was extremely clean and smelled great when we walked in. Everything we needed was available and the owner readily answered any questions we had via email. The beds were not as comfortable as I prefer - I'm spoiled with my super soft bed - but comfortable enough. Good for those who like firm beds. There was a bit of an issue with condensation from the air vent in the living area but if we kept the door shut it reduced the problem. The porch area is nice and adds to the relaxation. There was a good breeze and as I mentioned, the creek could be heard from that area. Parking was difficult with the boat we pulled to the cabin but for individual cars it is fine. There is a washer and dryer but they are in the basement which was musty following a recent storm. Other than that, I did not see any problems with the home or property - very well maintained. I particularly like the stone accents outside - it added to the ambiance. My husband is never really able to relax but commented more than once that this was the most relaxed he has been on vacation. I would not recommend this property for those who have difficulty with stairs. The stairs are good and solid but there are several steps required to get to the house."
