"The 12 of us (5 parents and 7 teens aged 18-21) absolutely loved the "Nottely Escape" vacation home!!! Our 3 families have been renting a lake vacation home for the past 4 years, and this was our favorite!! The view from the back of the house looking out to the lake was breathtaking -- could not get enough of it! The lot itself was well manicured. What cool lawn chairs they had for sunning!! But then there is the architectural design of the back of the house with the amazing stone pillars!! We brought our boat and went tubing every day -- gorgeous lake!! We caught bait fish right from the long pier of the dock in the morning to take when using their pontoon boat fishing in the evening. (Caught a large catfish and spotted bass!) The kitchen was spacious with plenty of room to cook and spread out our nightly dinner buffets, and there was plenty of room to eat at the kitchen table and enclosed patio! What a master bedroom! ... spacious with a sitting room overlooking that spectacular lake/mountain view! And what a gigantic master bath (and shower)!! All the showers were great! The teens enjoyed the lower-level great room with reclining couches and pool table! The details of the house were unbelievable like the lights on the steps that automatically went on when you reached the stairs as well as the automatic lights in the closets. It was great having 2 refrigerators! We saw this house 2 years ago and wanted to rent it, but it was all booked. So I booked it a year in advance ... and it was worth the wait!!!!! Ken was so efficient and great to work with -- replying to emails quickly. The owners, Ken and Diane, definitely built their dream home ... THANK YOU for sharing it with us!! :) :) :)"

  • Very peaceful

"The location is great - very secluded and peaceful. It's tucked away at the end of the road. You can't see any other homes from the property and the only time we heard neighbors was when they mowed their grass. One of the most relaxing places we have stayed in quite a while. We were able to sit by the creek in summer without bugs buzzing around us which was nice. The yard looks like a state park area and is spacious enough for kids to play. The description says that he creek is at the end of the drive but it was actually closer than I expected and could be heard from the porch. Although clearly an older home, the house was extremely clean and smelled great when we walked in. Everything we needed was available and the owner readily answered any questions we had via email. The beds were not as comfortable as I prefer - I'm spoiled with my super soft bed - but comfortable enough. Good for those who like firm beds. There was a bit of an issue with condensation from the air vent in the living area but if we kept the door shut it reduced the problem. The porch area is nice and adds to the relaxation. There was a good breeze and as I mentioned, the creek could be heard from that area. Parking was difficult with the boat we pulled to the cabin but for individual cars it is fine. There is a washer and dryer but they are in the basement which was musty following a recent storm. Other than that, I did not see any problems with the home or property - very well maintained. I particularly like the stone accents outside - it added to the ambiance. My husband is never really able to relax but commented more than once that this was the most relaxed he has been on vacation. I would not recommend this property for those who have difficulty with stairs. The stairs are good and solid but there are several steps required to get to the house."

  • Beautiful House

"The pictures do not do justice to this house. It is absolutely beautiful, and it was spotless on arrival. Thank you so much for sharing it. We made some very happy memories here. The geese came by for a feeding every day, and the lake was beautiful and peaceful. We will be back!"

  • Already planning a trip back.

"I have just arrived home after a week with my husband and my brother and his family at this wonderful home on the lake. Our ages ranged from 70 to 14 and each and every one of us is already trying to plan a return trip. The home and the area are beautiful. The home is so comfortable and welcoming, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. And the owners and the people that work for them are some of the nicest and most accomadating that we have met. I cannot imagine staying at this property and not falling in love with it. We went out on the boat everyday and enjoyed every minute of that. We cooked in mostly and had meals out on the deck looking at the lake and mountains. It was, truly, the best vacation we have had in years.Thank you for everything that made our visit so wonderful!"
