  • Family Reunion Fun!

"35 of us had a spectacular week at Sugarboo. Beautiful area with plenty to do. The younger children really enjoyed feeding the farm animals and spending time with them. Jose the grounds keeper checked on us often and was so helpful. The farmhouse was a hit and the whole family really did love everything especially the outdoor movies under the stars and laying around in the most relaxing hammocks! I look forward to returning with friends someday."

  • Fall retreat

"Our group of 13 (mostly seniors) spent four nights here. The youngest were in their 40's and the oldest is 90. We enjoyed the screened in porches, fire pit (Those are some wonderful chairs around it!), hot tub, large living room and dining table, and the numerous places to get off by oneself. Even though we had rain off and on during our stay, we were able to enjoy the pontoon boat twice. The second time we drove some of the older members to a nearby boat landing so they wouldn't have to go down the steep hill. (Yes, that hillside is quite steep!) The house and décor are beautiful! Loved all the wood (walls, cabinets, floors, furnishings)! The beds were very comfortable and the acoustics are great. . . very little noise from people walking overhead. The kitchen is very well equipped; however if you will be needing a 9X13 pan, I'd suggest you bring one along. Plenty of other pans, cookie sheets, etc. There is a washer and dryer on the lower level and we were thankful for that. We seemed to keep running out of towels and washcloths although there was one of each furnished for each person. Lighting is a bit dim on the main floor.(It could use more light in the kitchen and the overhead lights in the living room could be redirected downward.) We moved a lamp in order to put together a jigsaw puzzle on the coffee table. (But then, this was a group of seniors with diming eyesight.) I would recommend this lovely home to anyone looking for a vacation spot in the area and would love to bring my whole family here. Already started talking to one of them about that possibility. Thank you to the owners for all the work they did making this such a special vacation home!"

  • Amazing home!

"We rented this home for my husband's birthday. Like others have said, the pictures do not do it justice. It is beautiful both inside and out. The kids loved making smores in the fire pit and swimming off the dock. The kayak provided endless fun for the kids and I think all the adults are still sore from paddling them around everywhere. The house is well laid out so you do not feel cramped. The kids were able to play downstairs with the ping pong table and foozball while the adults were upstairs. We cant wait to rent the house again next summer! This time, however, we plan to rent a boat to explore even more of the lake. This house is great for families as well as if you just wanted a couples get away."

  • Poplar Ridge Retreat

"If you have dogs and want to go on vacation with them, this is absolutely the perfect place. In addition, the house is very cozy and comfortable and there are many things to do in the area so that even if it is a bit rainy (as it was on our trip) you would have to work very hard to be bored. If you play golf, check out Butternut Creek Golf Course... very challenging, but lots of fun. Elizabeth does a great job of communicating!"
