"We arrived Halloween night for a friend´s wedding weekend and used the written directions to find the house. We turned around a couple times because we couldn't see the house number in the dark, but it is the last house on the right down the very steep driveway. It was beyond beautiful. Everything was very clean. We had the privilege of staying the master suite which was enormous. It has a walk in closet, a huge bathroom with tons of mirrors, a jet tub, and the most incredible shower you`ll ever have. It overlooks the river and the fall foliage was beautiful. there is a bon fire area which is great and a tree house hot tub a short walk away. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We had a shortage of towels but we should have brought some of our own. It was difficult to maneuver in and out of the driveway with multiple cars because the turn around area near the house is a bit small. We figured it out though. It would have been convenient to have more than 2 keys as well because we had more than one group in and out of the house all weekend. But seriously none of that was even a problem because the house was so awesome. I would absolutely love to stay here again. Can I go this weekend? :-) We loved walking around downtown Dahlonega enjoying the restaurants and shops. I will be day dreaming and raving about this place for years."Guest: Julie Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: November 4, 2014View listing
"Very nice cottage and surroundings, excellent for kids, teenagers, pets have a huge lawn and forest to run and explore plus the river to swim in. Excellent location for activities as we did tubing on the river, horseback riding, zip lining, hiking, fishing and visiting the vineyards all within an hour drive. The cottage is comfortable and well stocked, the beds are comfortable so we fully recommend to all that staying here is a great vacation and getaway."Guest: Eric Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 12, 2014View listing
"I vacationed here with 6 of my girlfriends for a bachelorette weekend. It was absolutely amazing! It wasn't your typical bachelorette weekend full of craziness, but that isn't quite what we were going for anyways. We were looking for a place to spend some time together and have fun. We arrived to the house in the evening and were so incredibly surprised to find how clean and nicely decorated it was. The view was absolutely breathtaking! Our first night, we sat around catching up, relaxing around the fireplace. There was so much space for everyone to sleep and the beds and bedding were extremely comfortable/cozy. The next day, we went to Wolf Mountain where we enjoyed a delicious lunch outside with a gorgeous view of the mountains, then proceeded on to a delectable wine tasting, which was lots of fun. The wine was great! The second day, we just relaxed at the house. The owners of the house gave us the contact information of a masseuse that came out to the house and gave us all individual massages on the balcony of the house. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Then, we went down by the creek and parked ourselves in the lounge chairs, reminiscing and enjoying the tranquil sounds of the running water with the beautiful scenery that surrounded us. There was a huge fire pit as well! We made dinner that night at the house and were very happy to find that the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Our last night, we went out on the town. Downtown Dahlonega is a super cute little town with lots of great shops and places to visit. We had dinner at Corkscrew (which was recommended by the owners of the house) and it was amazing! Then we celebrated some more at a bar called Shenanigans, which was a fun place for all the locals to hang out. All in all, it was an amazing trip. We were so incredibly happy with the house and all of its amenities. We keep talking about how we are going to plan another trip to go back because we had such a great time and really loved the house/property. I highly recommend this place as a vacation spot if you are looking to have a nice and relaxing get-a-way. Great for families and friends! Would go back in a heartbeat! :)"Guest: Nicole S. ""Spirit of the River" cabin is one of the most magical places I have ever been. You can feel the magic when you arrive at the cabin. Everyone in our group says the same thing and that is why we book in advance at least twice a year for a nice long stay. There is a place for everyone to hang out. There are porches everywhere, cozy spots everywhere, and a beautiful river flowing around the entire property. The view of the river is surreal and at night in the jacuzzi it is so beautiful to see. The home is equipped with everything we need in the kitchen to bake, grill, or fry anything we want. The bedrooms are so warm and cozy and always have soft sheets to snuggle in. There are spare blankets all around, games, DVD's to watch, pool to play, firewood to burn. I've never noticed anything soiled or broken in the cabin. You can tell that the owners love their place. I am just so happy that they are willing to open it up to us each year. If we forget anything there is a Walmart very close. Actually the whole of Dahlonega is very close. We usually arrive and enjoy the place for a couple of days and then I will see a few here or there venture to town for an outing or something. We all sort of come and go through tour weeks stay and that is so perfect for us. When my dad comes with us he refuses to leave for any reason. He can't get enough of the place. Every year my family will begin making calls to me to make sure I have booked our stay because we all look forward to getting rejuvenated by some good ole river "spirit"."Guest: Shelley B.
