  • Girls Weekend

"When searching for a place that me and all my girlfriends could escape too, we came across this cabin. The pictures do it no justice at all! Upon our arrival, we were ecstatic that we kept winding up the mountain to get to it - it's not far from being on the tippy top! First glance, you will notice the wrap around porch - it wraps ALL the way around the cabin. Inside, the kitchen, dining, and living area are combined which gave us room to spread out. The 2 bedrooms upstairs were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The bedroom downstairs was even more spacious with its own bathroom and a laundry room. With 8 of us staying there, we were not too cramped at all! We did not use the sleeper sofa, but instead had a couple of air mattresses that fit nicely on the floors of the bedrooms. The surrounding area was very quiet and gave us a piece of heaven. The fire pit was a little tricky to get to at night, so make sure you have a flashlight for that. If you like shopping, Clayton, Mountain City, and Dillard will give you plenty of places to visit. If you like hiking, there are plenty of waterfalls to go see. I highly suggest Minnehaha Falls - easy trail and beautiful falls! If there was any improvement I could suggest for the cabin would be to install a hot tub! Other than that, it was a great place to get away from the boys and kids!"

  • Great House

"This house was very comfortable & clean. We have been coming to the area for years for a family reunion so we are familiar with the area and this house is in a great location. The only negative I have is that there were some things left in the fridge from past guest( a half eaten pie). Also I would bring my own pillow, the ones there were old and flat. Definitely will recommend and suggest to friends and family."

  • What a Great Place.

"What a great house and location. The house was clean and well maintained and most comfortable. Working with Judy was a pleasure, she was very prompt in answering and most helpful with any questions we had. We had a wonderful time and just loved the 1885 House. You did such a good job with the remodel, the kitchen is fantastic!! The view out back was so pretty and we enjoyed sitting on the porch and looking out at the mountains. I would recommend this place to anyone thinking of renting in Dillard. Thanks for sharing your home with others to enjoy. While there I thought of the history of the place and the wonderful times that must have been had here. Hope to return soon."

  • Fifth Visit Was Perfect

"Our visit in July was fabulous. Mandy and Dennis always leave the cabin so inviting. Our daughter's family was able to spend the entire week with us. We had a couple of rainy days at the end, but it did not slow us down, In fact we did waterfalls on one of the rainy days. Mud Creek Falls was visited twice and the day of rain made the water amount huge. The girls caught 7 trout at Andy's and we grilled them for dinner. The cabin is so convenient to so many things. We did Babyland General, Santa Land, Friday after five at Biltmore where the girls got to sing with the band, gem mining in Otto, dinosaur train, and antique shopping at Whistlestop. We were able to have breakfast in Asheville with a college friend. It was a wonderful week."
