"There's nothing like this place for a relaxing annual family reunion. We went with four families including 7 kids between 15 and 21- most said it was our best vacation ever. And this is a crowd that prefers beach vacations (NC Outer Banks). The house is like a luxury hotel but on a quiet finger of a huge lake. We swam across "finger" to state park - nice hiking there. Boathouse has canoe and commercial-grade 4-seat paddle boat. We rented a 28' pontoon boat for a day to explore Lake Hartwell. Explored several islands. Basked on beaches with fish coming right up to us...
But back to the house: grounds are beautiful. We fished, had campfires on lakeshore twice under fantastic star canopy. House has high-end finishes and appliances (maybe a little too high-tech - better instructions for the cooktop would help), huge bedrooms, nice baths. Dining area seats 16 not counting additional seating at the adjacent kitchen bar. Two attic dorms are great for kids, and though they don't have doors, acoustics weren't a problem - the walls and doors to the other bedrooms are very soundproof. That said, living room was so big that it was sometimes hard to hear. We joked that it must have been built by the inventor of Windex due to all the glass. Terrific huge screened porch, several decks (with grille) for readings, conversation. We got a lot of use from separate screened hot tub room with piped-in music. Impressive tree swing at edge of lake. The posted photos don't do it justice - I sent Steve (owner) a few more to add to website. Not many other young adults in the area meant we spent more time with each other - a blessing in disguise. Steve was great. When he was away, he had his very nice neighbor stop by to see if we needed anything. My only hesitation in recommending it for families with small kids is the water being so close - just keep an eye on them.
"Downtown Café" in Lavonia was excellent. Very much enjoyed visit to Greenville for a day - excellent restaurants, nice (if small) downtown, wonderful downtown waterfalls and park. We never got to Anderson. Overall, we were just too busy enjoying the property and the week just flew by - before we knew it, the it was time to leave, but filled with lots of photos and great memories."

"I love this place! I stayed here not one but two times this past year. I even got to bring my lab! Each time was a great experience and Ed and Wendy were a pleasure to deal with. Everything was as promised when we arrived. These pictures do not do this place justice. All of the rooms were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and eat. I loved the outdoor deck overlooking the lake. We loved sitting on the dock and using the paddle boat. Ping Pong and Air Hockey were great for the nighttime activities. The second weekend I went it was very cold outside so I was happy to see the firepit. We sat in front of it and made smores and had a wonderful time. I would recommend this lake house for many things and will definitely be returning."

"We spent a week at this lovely lake house. There was plenty of room for our group of four adults, a tween, and a toddler. The home was laid out perfectly, with ample seating, and we all had room to spread out. The fireplace was perfect for the chilly December weather, and we used it nearly every day! The kitchen was well stocked, with lots of dishes and flatware. Some of the pans were old and no longer "non-stick", but that is pretty average for rentals. I'm glad that we packed baby gates for the loft and deck staircases, but otherwise, the house is quite child friendly. We saw deer in the front yard daily, sometimes several times per day. Lots of birds and squirrels, too!
It was too cold for boating, so we didn't really need to use the walkway to the lake. As others said, the walkway is steep, but it isn't too bad, and it sure beats climbing up an unimproved hill! (Or worse, having no water access at all!)
Tugaloo State Park was a gem - just a few minutes away, and nearly empty in the winter. Our kids had the playground to themselves! If you visit, don't forget $5 cash for parking. Great golf in the area, too, even off-season.
Thanks again for a lovely stay!"

"We stayed at this lake house for Labor Day Weekend. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The house slept 8 adults comfortably. It is larger than it looks from the pictures. The back deck is huge with lots of seating and it is just a short walk down to the lake. My husband brought his boat to the dock, and access to the boat ramp from the house was simple. The house is located in the back of a fairly deep, quiet cove. There was plenty of room for parking and it wasnt too far from town. The owner, Bud, was very helpful. We will definitely be staying in this house again. Thanks for sharing your home!"
