  • Thanksgiving at Lake Burton

"My wife expressed an interest in a cool weather (fire place), mountainous (fall colored foliage) lakeside (we live on therefore love a lake) retreat for a different/special Thanksgiving! I found her just a spot wherein we invited a few close family members to join us and spend a unique turkey day together. Well having arrived and departed we discovered that we found not just a very unique place, but an awesome location and super nice home with wonderful amenities. This house was not only top shelf in terms of space, features, decoration and comfort, but absolutely beautiful. The owners obviously take tremendous care to maintain this lovely home. The lakeside location is tucked away in a gorgeous ridge of mountains at the southeastern edge of the Great Smoky Mountains in the north corner of Georgia near the North and South Carolina borders. And the lake is beautiful with miles of water to explore, play or fish. This fine spot is probably best during warmer weather in order to take advantage of the lake but it would be an awesome destination anytime of the year as long as there is no ice on the road! A+++++++"

  • Magnificent Mountain Home Vacation Rental

"Wonderful vacation rental! We had a party of 12 (6 adults and 6 children) and it fit us great! We never felt crowded, the bedrooms were spread out and private. The home is state of the art everything. The write up by the owner is very accurate. Lake Burton is fantastic and the boathouse is wonderful. the one pleasant surprise was the location of the floating dock. The picture makes it look like it could be in a shaded cove where swimming could be a bit cooler. Not so. Lots of sunshine all day long. The one thing that caught us off guard is the distance from the house to the boathouse. It was a short walk down the hill and across the road. Not far, but don't expect the home to be right on the water like some of the homes in the area."

  • Friends Get Away!

"It took us forever to find a weekend when we all could meet in the mountains and leave our busy lives to spend some quality time together. The weekend forecast predicted rain but that didn't matter because the cozy cabin's fireplace offered warmth and ambience to gather around and the lower deck (overlooking the quiet lake) offered relaxing lounge chairs for book reading and coffee while listening to the birds and rain drops. A break in the rain came on Saturday morning when we took the canoe out for our maiden voyage. Later after dinner, thinking ourselves experienced, we took the canoe back out as the last bit of light left us on a lake of glass and the night noises returned. Fortunately we left the porch and boat house lights on so we could find our way home. There were ample spaces for gathering and quiet places for alone time at the cabin and boat dock. This very clean cabin made us feel welcome and comfortable with flower pots brimming with color, whimsey and eclectic decor in and out, equipped kitchen with extra supplies plus comfy beds, up close views of Lake Burton from both decks and breathtaking view of Charlie Mountain. The only thing we missed was the millions of stars we can't see in the city. So I guess we will just have to come back."

  • Charming lake house

"I had a delightful stay in this cozy and charming lake house. It was very comfortable and had everything that we could possibly need. The view of the lake is spectacular and it was so nice to sit by the water. I would love to stay here again and to experience the lake In summer months. Great place, lots of room. I highly recommend it!"
