  • Thanksgiving weekend

"Our extended family of 15 spent 4 wonderful days at Lake Burton. We had more than enough space. The kitchen is a dream and has everything you need. The beds are super comfy, the decor makes it feel like home. Hope to rent again in the summer."

  • Thanksgiving at Lake Burton

"My wife expressed an interest in a cool weather (fire place), mountainous (fall colored foliage) lakeside (we live on therefore love a lake) retreat for a different/special Thanksgiving! I found her just a spot wherein we invited a few close family members to join us and spend a unique turkey day together. Well having arrived and departed we discovered that we found not just a very unique place, but an awesome location and super nice home with wonderful amenities. This house was not only top shelf in terms of space, features, decoration and comfort, but absolutely beautiful. The owners obviously take tremendous care to maintain this lovely home. The lakeside location is tucked away in a gorgeous ridge of mountains at the southeastern edge of the Great Smoky Mountains in the north corner of Georgia near the North and South Carolina borders. And the lake is beautiful with miles of water to explore, play or fish. This fine spot is probably best during warmer weather in order to take advantage of the lake but it would be an awesome destination anytime of the year as long as there is no ice on the road! A+++++++"

  • Wonderful Place! Cozy, Comfy, Quiet and Near All Our Destinations.

"The cabin is clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need, and the décor is charming throughout. Quiet, comfy and cozy. Every direction you drive from here is beautiful. On our first full day we drove west to GA 348 and did a 2 mi. mountain hike on the Appalachian Trail http://bit.ly/1JeZaDj, then to Anna Ruby Falls, then walking and dinner in Helen at Bigg Daddys. On our second day we drove east and hiked Tallulah Gorge. Driving back we went thru the community of Lakemont and wound around the east side of Lake Rabun and what a surprise and treat! Beautiful lake vistas and adorable homes hugging the hill sides. The Mark of the Potter is just down the road from the cabin, directly on the Soquee River. It is worth a visit for the many area attraction brochures they have at the front counter, not to mention the quaint ceramics. And for .25 cents you can feed the trout from their rustic overhanging balcony. We wish we had had more time to tool around the area and see more sights. We highly recommend this wonderful place."

  • Family Fun!

"Our entire family (ages 20 months to 85 years old) enjoyed a week at this home on Lake Burton. We had a wonderful time - the house was very comfortable and it was easy to feel relaxed and "at home". We fished and tubed on the lake and especially enjoyed the porch above the dock with the swings and hammock.... Each bedroom had it's own bath which was very convenient. Our grandchildren LOVED the loft area in the master bedroom! Many happy memories were made as we were all able to sit around the HUGE round table for our meals. We will always have a special place in our hearts for this home and our time there."
