  • Lovliest home / Most wonderful owners on the Lake!

"I have rented several homes on the lake and finally had the great fortune to discover Making Memories II. The home is everything it is pictured to be, and more. This is because the owners maintain very high standards for comfort, cleanliness and keep everything in great working order. I stayed for 6 months at a time for several years and the owners, in addition to being kind and friendly, were extremely responsive. They simply care so much about their lake home and their guests. Their own standards are high, and are passed along to their lucky renters. I would highly recommend this home to short or longer stays, any time of the year. The home itself is tasteful and charming with a massive master suite. These pictures don't quite do it justice. There are several outdoor spaces and a large dock for sunning, swimming and boating. The water is always deep and is just a stone's throw from the Gainesville Marina. The kitchen is better stocked than my own ;), the beds are so comfortable that its hard to crawl out in the morning, the jetted tub in the master is huge and the kitchen is like new. The location is close to shopping and dining, but far enough away that you feel secluded at the house. You will simply love this home and want to come back again and again!!"

  • Beautiful House, Generous Owners

"When my family decided to go on a lake vacation, we had no idea it would be this wonderful! This house is beautiful, very spacious, and is situated right on the lake! The back patio was absolutely lovely, and we had all our meals outside, overlooking the beautiful lake view. In addition to the house, a pontoon boat and jet ski were available for rent, and it was perfect being able to use it during those items during the week as we wanted (without having to drive a rental marina). All of this is a reflection of the generous and wonderful owners, Randy and Les, who made our family feel welcome and comfortable, and made sure the house had everything we needed (towels and linens). My family continues to talk about what a relaxing and lovely vacation this was! If I were to plan a trip to Lake Lanier again, I would absolutely rent this house again. Randy and Les - Our family thanks you for making this a lovely family vacation, and for being such generous people!"

  • Nice Location

"We stayed for three nights. The included boat dock was great since it was in the same vicinity of Port Royale Marina and all the conveniences. AC worked great considering the 100+ temperatures. The accomadations were cozy and clean with updated appliances. We enjoyed it and so did our dog."

"This review is a few weeks late in coming but considering that the smiles are still glued to our faces, better late than never! Our girls group enjoyed a most beautiful spiritually enriching and inspiring weekend in the Tanner home. Our memories as well as the laughter shared there are still ever present and we all feel so blessed to have spent a weekend there together. The ambiance was so perfect for our meals, workshops, downtime, and everyone was comfortable in every way. We appreciate so much that Mr. Tanner was such a pleasure to work with and went out of his way to make this weekend work for us. From when we entered on Thursday eve until we left on sunday morn we enjoyed ourselves and appreciated all the home had to offer, be it the lake, fireplace, pool table, spacious kitchen, private drive, comfortable couch areas, theater...the list goes on. The décor and design of the home was tasteful in every way and lent itself to the warmth we so enjoyed. Del, Thank you so much for allowing us the use (rental) of your home we certainly hope to be back some time in the future. Wishing you all the best and wishing all who spend time in your lovely home much blessing!!!! We feel blessed to have been there!"

Gainesville Travel Tips

Gainesville Vacation Rentals: Southern Comfort

Cradled in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains is Gainesville. This Georgia charmer is a small town with a big appeal. Its natural beauty commends it; and its southern atmosphere will delight. Enter a world of hot days and easy nights, all punctuated with smiles. It's a true family destination. But there's more than hospitality here. There is instead a collection of rugged adventures and wild experiences. Forests, lakes and stone all combine. The result is something magical. And, with Gainesville vacation rentals, you can have that magic for yourself.

Gainesville Cabin Rentals: Beauty Made Simple

You want a vacation but you also want one you can afford. With Lake Lanier lodging, that's no longer just a wish. All cabins are tailored for family needs (space, style and budgets). You can have rustic appeal without having to spare every penny. No longer huddle in hotel rooms. Instead sprawl within the wilderness, all while having the modern comforts you rely on. It's perfection. It's yours.

Lake Lanier Lodging: Discover Adventure

After relishing each morning in Gainesville cabin rentals, move then to the wonders beyond. Visit one of the 10 local marinas and find the appropriate boat, skis or other equipment to rent (as well as friendly staffers, all willing to provide lessons in safety and usage). Travel then to Bulford Dam Park and find swimming, hiking and picnicking areas. A small fee of one dollar will apply. Follow the Laurel Ridge Trail as it leads you through forestry. And then explore the Lake Lanier Resort and its 1,100 acres. There you'll be able to sample championship golf courses, horseback riding and even the Beach and Water Park. The kids will love it.

Gainesville Vacation Rentals: For All

It's time for more than trips that compromise, for days that never please. Instead let Lake Lanier lodging offer something the entire family can enjoy: pure entertainment.
