  • Great Family Getaway!

"My family of 4 (kids ages 6 & 9) spent a week here, and it was great! Pictures are exactly what it looks like (except I will say that the picture of the dock makes it look more "weedy" than it really is). There is a hammock and 2 hammock swinging chairs on the dock! Plenty of life-vests and floats for us. The house was clean and had all the towels (bath and beach), linens, blankets, etc that we needed. Kitchen is fully equipped. Could not have asked for the owner to be any friendlier or helpful. I texted her with a lot of questions and she responded VERY quickly! This is not a "fancy" house but it was clean, comfortable, and in a quiet cove...EXACTLY what we wanted! The great rate allowed us to have extra money to do more fun things with the kids....like rent a pontoon boat from Fish Tales Water Sports! The Georgia Aquarium was only about an hour away! I could not say enough nice things about this place and the owner! Thanks again for a great time!"

  • Best vacation ever!

"Our extended family of 23 thoroughly enjoyed this house. All agreed this was our best vacation spot ever. We started planning this vacation a year ago. I searched VRBO for houses with a private pool that could comfortably fit all of us. This house stood out. LOCATION: The location of this house is unbeatable. Situated on the quieter part of the lake with an island right across from the house ensured that we had absolute privacy, while maintaining access to a huge stunning lake and all the water activity that comes with it. ACTIVITIES The kids (& some adults) were kept busy jumping off the dock and kayaking in the area around the house. (we rented three extra kayaks from The Outdoor World in Dawsonville). We rented a skiboat for a couple of days, once with a driver to help the kids learn to wakeboard. we took day trips to some of the state parks and waterfalls, tubing on the cartecay river, horseback riding, stone mountain, the Coke museum and white water rafting on the Ocoee in Tennessee. Most of the trips were about an hour away with the exception of the white water rafting that was two hours away but deemed totally worth it by those who participated. Some of the younger kids also went to the Gainesville aquatic center (20 min away) one day and enjoyed their outdoor (empty) slides. We had alternate activities planned in case of inclement weather but the weather was absolutely perfect for our entire stay! HOUSE The house itself was a dream come true. I was a bit nervous that it would be a bit tight for us or that some would complain that it was not "nice" enough. Those nervous feeling evaporated the moment each of our families walked through the door. We never felt crowded in the least bit and to the contrary everyone was blown away by how beautiful the house was. Inside and out we felt like we were in our own private resort. The pool, volleyball court, dock, lake, sitting areas,Pool table & kitchen were all well used by us. If we came to this house again we would plan less day trips because there was so much to do in the house. There were a few accomplished pianists in our group and they teamed up with the baby grand piano to entertain us throughout our stay. MAURICE If we had to give out an award on this stay, it would go to Maurice for being the MVP. One of the nicest people i have ever met, he made sure that everything was perfect. He took care of us like a doting uncle when appropriate, but never intruded at all."

  • A MOST PERFECT PLACE FOR A MOST PERFECT WEEKEND!!!

"This review is a few weeks late in coming but considering that the smiles are still glued to our faces, better late than never! Our girls group enjoyed a most beautiful spiritually enriching and inspiring weekend in the Tanner home. Our memories as well as the laughter shared there are still ever present and we all feel so blessed to have spent a weekend there together. The ambiance was so perfect for our meals, workshops, downtime, and everyone was comfortable in every way. We appreciate so much that Mr. Tanner was such a pleasure to work with and went out of his way to make this weekend work for us. From when we entered on Thursday eve until we left on sunday morn we enjoyed ourselves and appreciated all the home had to offer, be it the lake, fireplace, pool table, spacious kitchen, private drive, comfortable couch areas, theater...the list goes on. The décor and design of the home was tasteful in every way and lent itself to the warmth we so enjoyed. Del, Thank you so much for allowing us the use (rental) of your home we certainly hope to be back some time in the future. Wishing you all the best and wishing all who spend time in your lovely home much blessing!!!! We feel blessed to have been there!"

  • Bridal Party Weekend

"The bride and groom opted to get the entire bridal party together a couple months before their wedding so everyone could get to know each other, bond and create some great memories for their wedding experience. This house was perfect for our group. We felt right at home and had a wonderful time. The owners provide all the basics needed for a comfortable stay, from toiletry starters, well appointed appliances, plenty of roll away beds and towels. The wifi was a little spotty and having a hot tub would have taken this to the next level, but the decor and cleanliness of home reassured us we had picked a great rental home. Definitely would recommend for a group of up to 16 singles who don't mind sharing bathrooms."
