  • Wonderful home in amazing setting

"Our family stayed at this fantastic lakeside property during a very special time, our son's wedding. There were 14 of us however each one of us stayed in comfort and every possible need was catered for in an amazing and beautiful house. This place will stay with all of us for ever, the memories it helped to create was worth every mile we travelled to get there. Lake Lanier was not a place I had heard of before but it was the most wonderful and peaceful place, we rented a boat and toured the lake which is all the more unbelievable when you realise it was man made in the 1950's. Travelling around the area was so easy, only an hour north of Atlanta but so much more in the area worth seeing, Amacallola Falls at the start of the Appalacian trail was stunning. The happiest time however was in and around the house where we swam from the jetty, and some fishing was attempted without success. The lay out meant people could sit and read in peace or spend time in each other's company or having fun playing pool or air hockey. Cooking was a pleasure with a large and well equipped kitchen and every bedroom was just so comfortable. Also more than enoug bathrooms, especially when all getting ready for a wedding at the same time. Cannot praise this property highly enough."

  • great place -- but don't underestimate the number of stairs.

"Good house perfect for our retreat. Just to be clear: a few of the other reviews mentioned that there's a lot of stairs down to the lake. In fact, there are more than 110 stairs -- important in case you're 9 months pregnant (like me) or have elders as part of your group (as we did). Also, while the owners were quick to respond to an email, they did not respond to either of two phone messages we left -- once before going to confirm details and once when we were leaving the property."

  • We had a BLAST!!!!

"This place was the hub for our family reunion. We had 10 family members 6 adults, 4 kids, (16 mon, 10, 4, 15) who lived in Cumming 20 min away, and we had 7 adults and 3 kids (6, 4, 2) staying at the house. We loved this house. The floor plan allowed for many pockets of activities to go on at the same time. Sometimes the kids played on the upstairs floor to ceiling screened in porch with hanging swing, and table and chairs, and plenty of floor space for building things with legos and blocks. It also had a gorgeous view of lake and tall standing pines, and another view of the play equipment in the side yard. That made it easy to monitor any kids from the porch that were playing on the fort/swing set/slide. The huge living room had leather seating area (with sleeper sofa) for TV/DVR viewing, and a clear view of the kids playing on the porch. The sliding glass doors to the porch kept the noise outside. The upper level has 3 bedrooms. The description on the web is confusing. Maybe my description will help. The Master bedroom with it's view of the lake had a kIng bed and it's own bathroom and sitting area. The 2nd bedroom had a queen bed with a "Jack and Jill" bathroom that connected with the 3rd bedroom. This 3rd bedroom had 4 twin beds in a row with plenty of room to move around. The kitchen area had great seating for 12, and the long counter area was perfect for food prep too. Note: This house has a wonderful LARGE walk-in pantry making it so nice to organize our stuff. Downstairs was the 4th bedroom with a King bed, bathroom in the hallway and its own living room with tv too. It was perfect to put kids down there for nap time, as none of the other activity noise could be heard down there. Another porch downstairs, only this one was glass enclosed, had a daybed in it, and "gramps" loved waking up in the morning and having a view of the lake. Windows crank open for the breeze off the lake. There is also an access door to the outside patio from the porch door wall. The patio has a small propane grill and seating area. The dock was used for swimming, and kids fishing, ( some perch, bass, blue gill and set them free). We docked my sister's pontoon boat and jet ski there. The upper deck is a sun deck to catch some rays and breeze. I had a medical condition that made it hard for me to walk, but Walter has a golf cart to rent that makes it easier to carry stuff up and down the hill, and a paddle boat that was so much fun too! Walter is great!"
