  • Beautiful and everything you could want

"We loved this cabin! It was spotless and clean when we arrived. We were also greeted by Bear the dog people mention. He pretty much was at the cabin anytime we were and we loved his company, so did our children. The cabin was great as for the most part everything you need is provided and clean. The hot tub was amazing. The wi-fi was nice to have also. The kids loved the rooms and the fire pit outside. The cabin is about 5 miles from Helen which is great as it was a quick trip to the Cool Tubing drop in we used for river tubing while there. We do suggest driving the 11 miles to the Ingles grocery store as the local ones are really over priced. Be sure to check out the cabbage patch baby land also. The only suggestions I can offer is remember to bring salt and pepper, butter, and condiments. We totally forgot our store run. You may also want to bring a first aid kit as we didn't see one and our youngest slipped with wet feet on the stairs and split his lip wide open (nothing to do with the owners! Just wet little feet!) We had nothing to use but paper towels and the nearest hospital is about a hour away. Also bring some cleaning wipes as there was nothing to clean off the counters and table after dinner . We will most def be returning to this cabin next year. It is quiet and perfect. The owners are quick to answer any questions or concerns. We loved it."

  • What a find for a crowd!

"There's nothing like this place for a relaxing annual family reunion. We went with four families including 7 kids between 15 and 21- most said it was our best vacation ever. And this is a crowd that prefers beach vacations (NC Outer Banks). The house is like a luxury hotel but on a quiet finger of a huge lake. We swam across "finger" to state park - nice hiking there. Boathouse has canoe and commercial-grade 4-seat paddle boat. We rented a 28' pontoon boat for a day to explore Lake Hartwell. Explored several islands. Basked on beaches with fish coming right up to us... But back to the house: grounds are beautiful. We fished, had campfires on lakeshore twice under fantastic star canopy. House has high-end finishes and appliances (maybe a little too high-tech - better instructions for the cooktop would help), huge bedrooms, nice baths. Dining area seats 16 not counting additional seating at the adjacent kitchen bar. Two attic dorms are great for kids, and though they don't have doors, acoustics weren't a problem - the walls and doors to the other bedrooms are very soundproof. That said, living room was so big that it was sometimes hard to hear. We joked that it must have been built by the inventor of Windex due to all the glass. Terrific huge screened porch, several decks (with grille) for readings, conversation. We got a lot of use from separate screened hot tub room with piped-in music. Impressive tree swing at edge of lake. The posted photos don't do it justice - I sent Steve (owner) a few more to add to website. Not many other young adults in the area meant we spent more time with each other - a blessing in disguise. Steve was great. When he was away, he had his very nice neighbor stop by to see if we needed anything. My only hesitation in recommending it for families with small kids is the water being so close - just keep an eye on them. "Downtown Café" in Lavonia was excellent. Very much enjoyed visit to Greenville for a day - excellent restaurants, nice (if small) downtown, wonderful downtown waterfalls and park. We never got to Anderson. Overall, we were just too busy enjoying the property and the week just flew by - before we knew it, the it was time to leave, but filled with lots of photos and great memories."

  • Already planning a trip back.

"I have just arrived home after a week with my husband and my brother and his family at this wonderful home on the lake. Our ages ranged from 70 to 14 and each and every one of us is already trying to plan a return trip. The home and the area are beautiful. The home is so comfortable and welcoming, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. And the owners and the people that work for them are some of the nicest and most accomadating that we have met. I cannot imagine staying at this property and not falling in love with it. We went out on the boat everyday and enjoyed every minute of that. We cooked in mostly and had meals out on the deck looking at the lake and mountains. It was, truly, the best vacation we have had in years.Thank you for everything that made our visit so wonderful!"

  • Fun at The Creek

"We enjoyed our stay at Creek Fun. The property was clean and well-maintained. We did have to go to the laundry room to find our washcloths. The rooms were spacious. Enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the water flowing down the creek. We also enjoyed playing pool in the cool basement. Disappointed that we could not watch the Atlanta Braves on TV. We had a great meal at the Deer Lodge Restaurant on hwy 17/75, open on Thur, Fri. and Sat."
