  • Awesome Lake Home!

"Definitely one of a kind lake home with interesting details throughout. The floor to ceiling windows in the living room provide unobstructed views of the beautiful water and mountains. The home is in a peaceful setting without neighbors close by. The house was very clean and the linens were nice quality and the kitchen well stocked. The boathouse is a great place to relax by the lake and there is even a refrigerator to store some cold drinks or snacks. The owner was very nice to work with. Minnehaha Falls is very close by and a must see beautiful waterfall! We have rented many VRBO's before and this one is a gem, we would love to return again some day!"

  • Fantastic Weekend Getaway

"Three friends and I enjoyed our weekend getaway at this cozy cabin! It is in close proximity to Helen and surrounding attractions. We had everything we needed at our fingertips. A terrific home away from home!"

  • Very peaceful

"The location is great - very secluded and peaceful. It's tucked away at the end of the road. You can't see any other homes from the property and the only time we heard neighbors was when they mowed their grass. One of the most relaxing places we have stayed in quite a while. We were able to sit by the creek in summer without bugs buzzing around us which was nice. The yard looks like a state park area and is spacious enough for kids to play. The description says that he creek is at the end of the drive but it was actually closer than I expected and could be heard from the porch. Although clearly an older home, the house was extremely clean and smelled great when we walked in. Everything we needed was available and the owner readily answered any questions we had via email. The beds were not as comfortable as I prefer - I'm spoiled with my super soft bed - but comfortable enough. Good for those who like firm beds. There was a bit of an issue with condensation from the air vent in the living area but if we kept the door shut it reduced the problem. The porch area is nice and adds to the relaxation. There was a good breeze and as I mentioned, the creek could be heard from that area. Parking was difficult with the boat we pulled to the cabin but for individual cars it is fine. There is a washer and dryer but they are in the basement which was musty following a recent storm. Other than that, I did not see any problems with the home or property - very well maintained. I particularly like the stone accents outside - it added to the ambiance. My husband is never really able to relax but commented more than once that this was the most relaxed he has been on vacation. I would not recommend this property for those who have difficulty with stairs. The stairs are good and solid but there are several steps required to get to the house."

  • Quiet and peaceful, great layout!

"We spent a week at this lovely lake house. There was plenty of room for our group of four adults, a tween, and a toddler. The home was laid out perfectly, with ample seating, and we all had room to spread out. The fireplace was perfect for the chilly December weather, and we used it nearly every day! The kitchen was well stocked, with lots of dishes and flatware. Some of the pans were old and no longer "non-stick", but that is pretty average for rentals. I'm glad that we packed baby gates for the loft and deck staircases, but otherwise, the house is quite child friendly. We saw deer in the front yard daily, sometimes several times per day. Lots of birds and squirrels, too! It was too cold for boating, so we didn't really need to use the walkway to the lake. As others said, the walkway is steep, but it isn't too bad, and it sure beats climbing up an unimproved hill! (Or worse, having no water access at all!) Tugaloo State Park was a gem - just a few minutes away, and nearly empty in the winter. Our kids had the playground to themselves! If you visit, don't forget $5 cash for parking. Great golf in the area, too, even off-season. Thanks again for a lovely stay!"
