  • Better Than Expectations!!!!

"Brought my wife and three kids up for the week. House was in great condition. Lake is beautiful and my kids had a blast jumping off the two story dock. Property is within 5 minutes of restaurants, super market, etc. Rented a boat from the marina down the street for a day, drove 45 minutes north to Helen, Ga and spent many days just relaxing on the dock watching the kids swim. Owner was great and very helpful. Highly recommend."

  • Great property for a retreat

"This property was booked for the purpose of a small church men's group retreat for 4 days, 3 nights. Upon arrival, the property looked just like the pictures posted on this site. Everything in the house matched our needs specifically like it was built just for us. The lake is visible from the house deck and the lake is only a 2 minute walk (if that) from the back of the house. From the main road it only took about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the property, which is not bad for a lake property. The property is close to other houses which is a comfort if you don't like seclusion, but the houses are not too close to one another that you disturb people in the other property. The men enjoyed the leather sofa, which was extremely comfortable as were all the furniture pieces. The jacuzzi tub and shower were nice and having a laundry room was a nice plus. Having DirecTV on a Saturday afternoon and evening during college football season was great! Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and I am very please with the quality of the house and property and the responsiveness of the owner. I don't think any of us could have asked for me in our first men's retreat adventure. Now we have something to brag to the women's ministry about, lol. Thanks and I hope to do it again!"

  • Poplar Ridge Retreat

"If you have dogs and want to go on vacation with them, this is absolutely the perfect place. In addition, the house is very cozy and comfortable and there are many things to do in the area so that even if it is a bit rainy (as it was on our trip) you would have to work very hard to be bored. If you play golf, check out Butternut Creek Golf Course... very challenging, but lots of fun. Elizabeth does a great job of communicating!"

  • Well-appointed, clean, comfortable cabin; great fenced property for dogs to run

"Smokerise Cabin had all of the essentials AND comforts, including paper towels, soap, laundry detergent, etc. That is not always the case and was much appreciated. Clean and comfortable- Robes and slippers in the closets, book light in the nightstand drawer, cooking oil and basic spices/cooking needs stocked in the kitchen, and other such thoughtful details taken care of. we had a wonderful, relaxing time and would definitely visit again and recommend it to friends. We chose this cabin and especially enjoyed it because we could allow the dogs to run free and play and not worry about them getting away- that was probably the biggest bonus for me. However, there are areas of the fence that are in rather bad disrepair, with barbed wire hanging that could be dangerous. It's a lot of fence line to go around the entire property, so probably is hard to keep up with, and it didnt end up being an issue as we just kept the dogs away from those areas, but I wanted to mention it just as an FYI.. that was literally my only complaint though, every detail of this cabin was wonderful- All of the appliances / hot tub / fireplace / TVs were in good working order. Love the comfy rocking chairs and swing. One suggestion would be to leave directions on how to change hot tub temp – we were able to increase the temp when we got there but could not figure out how to lower it when we were leaving. The cabin was easily accessible, we had no problem with the lockbox or instructions getting in. It is a wooded setting, so there is a view of Mt Yonah from the hottub and back yard/porch during the winter, probably not as much during the summer."
