"We rented the cabin for three nights. It is exactly as shown and beautiful. The setting is down a private road and far enough away from town yet close enough to run into Helen for a bite to eat or to tour the shops. It is close to Unicoi for hiking and swimming. Sadie was awesome to deal with and made everything easy from check in to check out. We will stay again in this cabin."

"Hartwell Manor impressed every family member when they arrived for a cousin's reunion from 5 states - 7 families with 7 kids ranging from 2 to 18. There wasn't one thing not to like! The pictures don't begin to describe what is really behind the front door of the house. I think it has been said in all of the other reviews. We have rented a lot of vacation homes and this by far the best one ever. There wasn't anything lacking inside or outside the house. The most popular place for us was the dock with the boating, fishing and swimming. Everyone was so happy to be able to swim in warm, clean water without chlorine or salt. If we ever need a house this big again, it will definitely be Hartwell Manor. Steve, the owner and Ted, the "greeter" were both outstanding. What a wonderful, unforgettable experience!"

"My husband and I have rented this cottage three times now and we still love it! Everything from our 2013 review holds true - it's just the perfect storybook cottage and we're always in awe at how beautiful the lake & mountains are. The cottage is NOT your typical "rental property." The decor is unique and charming, and you really feel like you're sharing the home of the very nice owners. We took the canoe out several times and went quite a distance along the shore - it's fun to look at the large mansions that have been built on this lake. The lake is very clear and great for swimming - perfect temperature in August. We didn't need to use the A/C at all because of the mountain breezes and cool nights. We'll definitely be back!"
