  • Refreshing for body, soul and spirit

"This place was just what the Dr ordered for peace and relaxation. It was a wonderful experience to escape for a half week for my husband and i. Our only complaint is that we didn't stay longer! The house is quaint, the views are amazing, the moon glistens off the water as you are sleeping in the bed with a wonderful view of the lake right there at your feet! The boathouse was definitely our hang out while there. It is exquisite! Bob is wonderful and extremely helpful and accommodating. You could not ask for a better place. We will be back, for sure!"

  • Charming Place to Stay

"My wife and I enjoyed staying here. The house was as described. There are neighbors nearby but it had the privacy we were looking for. Short drive of five minutes or so into Dahlonega so very convenient to everything. The house has everything you need. All we needed to bring was food. My only complaint was that the jetted tub inside didn't seem to be working for some reason. The owner said he would look into it. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. A nice relaxing place for a getaway. We didn't bring our kids but there seemed to be plenty of games and a neat set of bunk beds for them to sleep on."

  • Family Vacation fun

"This was our second year at this home....GREAT location on the Lake and easy access from the house to the dock, especially for small children. Improvements on the screen porch were GREAT...we sat on the porch every day. Our main concern this year was the state of the dock, it was very dirty and full of spiders. My husband actually spent one day scrubbing the dock which made a huge difference. Every morning we cleaned the spider webs and we couldn't sit on the dock in the early evening b/c it was over run with spiders. Our other concern is the attention to detail the cleaning people have, there wasn't a shower curtain liner in the bathroom and the shower curtain smelled like mildrew. There were webs in the bathroom and the sunroom, some light bulbs were out. Even with these issues, we did have a great time...we may rent again next year."

  • Mountain Christmas!

"Everything about our stay was great! The cabin was perfect, plenty of room for all. The entire family enjoyed the walk to Denton Creek and the waterfall, and then enjoyed a soak in the hot tub afterwards! Everyone, including our 4 and 7 year-old granddaughters, loved the property and the location. Everything about the cabin was as advertised. Afterwards we had a nice lunch and shopping in Clayton!"

Northeast Mountains Travel Tips

More than Just Georgia on my Mind

Beginning just 50 miles from Atlanta, sight of the state’s main airport, are the mountains of Northeast Georgia. It is easily accessible from I-75 and I-85. Known by the original Cherokee inhabitants as the "Sah-ka-na-ga" or "Great Blue Hills of God," it is better known today as the Blue Ridge Mountains which are also part of the Appalachian Mountains. A significant area of the mountains, some 750,000 acres, comprises the Chattahoochee National Forest. Vacationers choosing Northeast Georgia cabin rentals come for the spectacular scenery and wonderful year-round climate.

Paradise for Outdoor Enthusiasts

Visitors to Northeast Georgia vacation rentals will find themselves in the heart of the great outdoors. The variety of activities is impressive, with endless trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and much more. For water-lovers, go rafting at the Chattahoochee River National Park or enjoy the thrill of tubing at the Cool River Tubing Co. which also offers waterslides for the children. This area was the sight of the America’s first gold rush and visitors can still enter into the thrill of panning for gold and gemstones while learning more about the life in the 1800s. Children will enjoy the Kangaroo Conservation Center, the largest collection of these delightful animals outside of Australia. A not-to-be-missed day out is found at the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway where the vintage and open-air railcars wind along the Toccoa River up into the sister towns of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN.

Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park commemorates battles from the Civil War and visitors will find the museum, seven-mile self-guided driving tour, monuments, hiking and horseback trails make up a wonderful day out. To round off your experience of the Civil War, visit Lookout Mountain Battlefield and the historic Cravens House.

Visiting the Parks--What Do You Need To Know?

Choosing a Northeast Georgia lodging near the magnificent parks and forests makes for a wonderful vacation. Visitors may wish to consider buying a Park and Historic Site Pass which not only provides great value for your money, it also helps preserve the parks and historic sites for future generations. Make sure you are aware of the safety tips provided at the parks. Dress appropriately. If you are planning a hike, make sure you wear the right shoes! In winter, ensure you have planned for the possibility of a shower. No one ever plans to get lost, so be aware of what to do if this happens. If you are planning to camp overnight, don’t bring firewood into the park, use local wood. If you plan to hunt or fish, please ensure you have a hunting and fishing license. Visitors can buy a license from the Wildlife Resources Division of DNR, at Electronic Georgia Licensing (EGAL) system or by calling 1-800-366-2661.
