  • Wonderful Lakefront House

"Three couples spend a fall reunion weekend recently. We could not have chosen better. Wonderful views, clean as a pin and so well equipted. All three couple had great sleeping arangements including their own bath. . Owner was great to work with - top notch. Even found a Buffalo Wild Wings 10 minutes away with the NFL Game Ticket. So I didn't have to miss my Packer game. Except for a run to the Publix we never left the house. The house has so much room with plenty of nooks and crannies to avoid the potential to much "togetherness" We would definately rent this house again."

  • Great cabin / great value

"My husband and I had a fabulous week in Northeast Georgia. Clayton area is one of our favorites in North GA due to its proximity to NC and SC and there's so much to see and do. Cabin was cozy, comfortable, clean, had everything we needed and our home away from home for the week. We loved sitting on the porch with a view every afternoon and relaxing. We didn't realize the cabin had a washer/dryer until we got there! Nice plus! We highly recommend using Wildwater, Ltd. for your rafting trips - we've used them on every river they raft and they do a great job. We did Section IV of the Chattooga which was definitely on our bucket list. Also Yonah Vineyards, Tiger Mountain Vineyards and 12 Spies made for a great wine tasting afternoon. Many waterfalls and hikes in the area. This cabin's location is close to it all plus the quaint town of Clayton. Check it out - you'll have a great time!"

  • Delightful Lake Lanier House - Really Top Notch!

"My family just enjoyed a delightful stay at this spotless, well furnished, well equipped house right on Lake Lanier that had two docks from which to soak up the beauty of the lakeside. The furnishings are very high quality(ie. linens, towels, etc), the kitchen has everything you'd need (again top quality), TV in every bedroom and living room, Wi Fi , - a perfect place. We enjoyed exploring the lake area by canoe and relaxing on the docks. The owner is very attuned to detail and providing top notch customer service ... Go There!!"

Northeast Mountains Travel Tips

More than Just Georgia on my Mind

Beginning just 50 miles from Atlanta, sight of the state’s main airport, are the mountains of Northeast Georgia. It is easily accessible from I-75 and I-85. Known by the original Cherokee inhabitants as the "Sah-ka-na-ga" or "Great Blue Hills of God," it is better known today as the Blue Ridge Mountains which are also part of the Appalachian Mountains. A significant area of the mountains, some 750,000 acres, comprises the Chattahoochee National Forest. Vacationers choosing Northeast Georgia cabin rentals come for the spectacular scenery and wonderful year-round climate.

Paradise for Outdoor Enthusiasts

Visitors to Northeast Georgia vacation rentals will find themselves in the heart of the great outdoors. The variety of activities is impressive, with endless trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and much more. For water-lovers, go rafting at the Chattahoochee River National Park or enjoy the thrill of tubing at the Cool River Tubing Co. which also offers waterslides for the children. This area was the sight of the America’s first gold rush and visitors can still enter into the thrill of panning for gold and gemstones while learning more about the life in the 1800s. Children will enjoy the Kangaroo Conservation Center, the largest collection of these delightful animals outside of Australia. A not-to-be-missed day out is found at the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway where the vintage and open-air railcars wind along the Toccoa River up into the sister towns of McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN.

Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park commemorates battles from the Civil War and visitors will find the museum, seven-mile self-guided driving tour, monuments, hiking and horseback trails make up a wonderful day out. Visiting the Parks--What Do You Need To Know?

Choosing a Northeast Georgia lodging near the magnificent parks and forests makes for a wonderful vacation. Visitors may wish to consider buying a Park and Historic Site Pass which not only provides great value for your money, it also helps preserve the parks and historic sites for future generations. Make sure you are aware of the safety tips provided at the parks. Dress appropriately. If you are planning a hike, make sure you wear the right shoes! In winter, ensure you have planned for the possibility of a shower. No one ever plans to get lost, so be aware of what to do if this happens. If you are planning to camp overnight, don’t bring firewood into the park, use local wood. If you plan to hunt or fish, please ensure you have a hunting and fishing license. Visitors can buy a license from the Wildlife Resources Division of DNR, at Electronic Georgia Licensing (EGAL) system or by calling 1-800-366-2661.
