Beautiful, private cabin - exceptionally clean!
"The cabin exceeded our expectations based on the pictures listed on VRBO. Beautiful, private, serene and stocked to the gills with everything you could possibly need to whip up a meal. The wrap around porch, screened in porch, and walk out basement patio with swings were all extra space that we utilized every day - along with the grill. The kids loved the game room with air hockey and movie theatre with surround sound! In hindsight my husband and I probably would have taken the main floor bedroom as it had the more spacious, attached bathroom. The upstairs bathroom may have had the king size bed and walk in closet but the bathroom was separate and small. It did have the nice loft seating area, however as well as another seating area in the bedroom.
The kitchen had everything you could ever want - this proved to be a good and bad thing as there was nowhere to put all the food we brought. We made it work though. The kitchen was also a tight squeeze with our large family. Our family of 8 had to spread out and couldn't really eat together as a family as the dining table seats 4 only and the bar seats 3. Again, we made it work.
The drive to the cabin is C R A Z Y!! I think the directions could have been better written as we made a couple wrong turns. I was so thankful I didn't bring my little coupe - even with AWD I'm pretty sure I'd have bottomed out in all the ruts and grooves on the uphill, gravel road. I drove a little SUV that did not have 4WD and it was harrowing getting up the hill to the cabin. We had some rain the last couple of days and the "bridge" to the house got washed out on one side. Every time we left or came "home" I was petrified of that road! But it made for an exciting adventure and we had some good laughs over it. On the positive side, it sure made the cabin private and secluded!
The overall location can't be beat - it's right off the main highway - 76. Close to a couple of towns and grocery stores.
We had one major issue in that the water stopped working towards the end of our trip. We called the owners and they sent someone out the next day while we were out hiking. A few of us were able to shower when we got home and we were able to do the last load of dishes but then it stopped working again. Of course this was no fault of the owners.
Overall, this place is great! Beautiful, private home - would be great for a group of couples too as each bedroom is on a separate floor so everyone has privacy."

"We had a wonderful time! It rained everyday on our vacation, but the cabin provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The game room was a huge hit for all of us and I enjoyed the outdoor room every morning as I had my devotions for several hours out there. Ms. Kathy is a pleasure and we will be going back in the future."

"Our family has been vacationing together for eleven years now and this is the first place we all agree we want to go back to!
The house is large enough for all of us (11 people ranging in age from 4 To 68) to have a quiet space if we wished. Most of the time, we could be found in one of three places: in the kitchen, on the porch, or at the pool. The guys took over the well-stocked kitchen where they prepared wonderful meals on the Viking stove. They also put the house and pool grills to good use.
The owner was available to help if needed but was not intrusive. The property manager patiently answered all our pre-arrival questions and made sure we were satisfied after we checked in.
While we spent most of our time enjoying the house and pool area, several members of our party did venture into Blue Ridge for antiquing and site seeing on the train
We would recommend this place to friends."

"The mountain cabin was clean, cozy and well-appointed. The directions on how to make our stay carefree were accessible and clear. The owner, although out of town, responded immediately to a roof leak and within 12 hours the problem was totally solved. We loved the screen porch with the swinging bed. A definite place to which we will return."
