"Honestly, I have never been on a vacation where I wasn't ready to get home....NEVER. This is the first time I didn't want to leave. I could live there! It is so peaceful, soul-lifting, beautiful, serene, fun. Words cannot describe this cabin/property. We are a family of 7. Kids ages are 5 - 13. Never a dull moment...Never heard the words "I'm bored". You do not need to leave the property to have a great time - the kids were so worn out by the end of the day from all of their adventures, it was great! Previous reviews said they didn't see a soul on their visits and that is the truth. We spent 6 nights, hiked for miles down that stream and there wasn't another person or house. One of my favorite things to do was sipping coffee on the porch, listening to the stream, watching the kids search for crawdads. The antique stove was so much fun to cook with. We made cobblers, pulled roast pork, etc - works like a charm and so unique! Loved taking pictures of the kids at the mill, with the tractor....You just have to book this place to see all of the amazing things that I'm sure we didn't even cover on our trip. I can't wait to go back. One of a kind property! P.S. If I could give one tip...If you plan on hiking IN the stream (and I recommend it because you miss some beautiful sites just staying on the trails), like we did many times....wear an old pair of tennis shoes - it will save your feet. There are many beautiful rocks and the majority are not even slippery. We just noticed after miles of hiking, water shoes didn't offer enough cushion. Slipped on tennis shoes and we were good to go. OH! And grab a hiking stick - they have some by the front door!"Guest: Melissa M. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 6, 2014View listing
"We just got back from our vacation to north Georgia and were lucky enough to have picked this cabin! The pictures do not do the place justice. It is gorgeous with 3 levels. The top level has a loft area, with great views, and the master bedroom (with au suite bathroom) that also has great views. The main level has a fireplace, beautiful kitchen, dining room, another nice size bedroom with full bathroom, wrap around deck with an outdoor fireplace. The lower level has a 65" or 70" flat screen, great leather couch and chairs and table top shuffle board (I think that is what it is called. Outside the lower level is the hot tub and grill. We saw a deer in the morning right outside of the kitchen window. The cabin is centrally located to do almost anything. Will rent here again!"Guest: Tony R. "The description of this place does not do it justice. We had family coming in from out of town and not enough room to accommodate everyone so we rented Hemlock Hollow in early March. The house is amazing. It has dozens of unique details that make it very special and there is plenty of room to stretch out. The outdoor fireplace and sleeping cabin are short walks from the house and the stream is just a little farther. The bridge connects to other hiking paths including one that leads to ruins from an old bridge. Nature lovers will be very excited about both the trails, outdoor fireplace and sleeping cabin! All the bedrooms have their own bathrooms and each one is different. The showers have adjustable shower heads to accommodate young ones too. Lots of care was taken to provide a variety of games, books etc. for those on an extended stay. This also makes it an excellent place to stay all year round. The kitchen has plenty of room for several cooks to work at once and not get in each others way. The downstairs living area is very large and would make a great place for movie night."Guest: Sam Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 22, 2014View listing
"My husband and I bought our dog here and she really enjoyed playing in the river with us everyday and chasing balls in the open field area on the side. We slept well at night in the comfortable bed in the master. We sat the plastic chairs in the river which was really nice. The hot tub jets are super strong and the water pressure in the shower was great. We loved opening the doors in the bedroom in the morning with the cool breeze and the sound of the rushing river. It was soothing to swing on the porch in the afternoon under the double fans. Great location in between Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Thanks Deborah for all your help and being so easy to deal with!"Guest: Adventure Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 31, 2014View listing
