  • Peaceful, relaxing back porch sunsets

"We used this as our family vacation spot before or girls went back to college. The first thing to note is that the photos can not describe how a great the house and location to the lake. The house is beautiful and well appointed with all the comforts needed. Our favorite was the large back porch with your choice of rocking chairs, swings, or hammock. We all took turn taking naps in the hammock, not to be missed! Even though it was August the temps on the back porch were very comfortable. We ate all of our meals on the back porch as well. The house has great views of the lake, facing west you get great sunsets each night. The dock and the lake are very close to the house and we spent a great deal of time on the dock playing in the water. The fire pit near the lake was enjoyable for s'mores after dark. We all agree that this was one of the most peaceful relaxing vacations we have had in years. If your looking for a place to get away and really relax this is the place. We are already planning a return visit for next summer."

  • nice time on the river

"We had a very nice time on the river. The house was very well outfitted, toilet paper paper towels. We ate in most meals so was glad to see the kitchen so well outfitted. We enjoyed eating out on the deck. We did eat a few meals out and it is not far from town. So many nice restaurants to eat at. We ate at Blue Ridge Brewery and the Black Sheep. Both were very good. We enjoyed the firepit and did smores down there. Also got in the hot tub and enjoyed that. Kids got in the water. While we were there we went whitewater rafting on the Ocoee, kayaked the Toccoa River and tried to paddleboard but the proprieter of the only game in town was not very agreeable. We went to the Saturday open farmers market in town and really enjoyed that and picked apples at Mercier Orchards (they also have great vegetables and fruit.) If you want to use inner tubes, bring them from home. None at the house and none at the wallmart or dollar store, and I thought it was still summer. No problems with the tv, but internet service didn't work till the last day there. The driveway is a little intimidating at first but if you really can't handle it, I am sure you could park down below and use the stairs. The recomendations below say age 55+, I would check it if you can handle stairs because my husband and I are both 55+ so use your judgement. I used the stairs as exercise. All and all we had a wonderful time."

  • Rivers Edge

"We loved the location of the cabin and the beautiful setting. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Being on the river and enjoying the tree's rope swing was my families favorite:)"

  • Simply Spectacular!!!!

"We absolutely Loved this Home! It was Beautiful, spacious and comfortable with every single amenity you could think of needing. All of this plus a Gorgeous setting helped to make this one of our most relaxing vacations ever. We swam, kayaked and floated in the river, spent a day hiking at Amicalola Falls (highly recommended) and enjoyed a river tubing trip through the General Store Family Tubing Adventures. We did not plan ahead enough to bring two cars or one large enough to transport Tubes so we could tube the river on our own, but will definitely do so next time! In the evenings we enjoyed the fire pit, jacuzzi and playing cad games. It was so nice to have a home away from home to enjoy with our family before our oldest moves away in August. Thank you for providing the perfect setting for us to spend some much needed quality time together and briefly ignore our hectic schedules. This place was very hard to leave :( Sara was a delight and was one of the best owners we have worked with on here. We can't wait to try the wing sauce, but if it comes close to matching your taste in home decor and settings, we know it will be fabulous!"
