"My hubby and my Bicheon-Poo were there for a week and it was glorious! Great cabin in the woods. We enjoyed just relaxing and taking short road trips. The kitchen had everything we needed. The main shower and bathroom were nice. I appreciated all the supplies provided for our use. The living room was very comfy and so nice to open the door for fresh air ! The beds were comfortable. We tried the Murphy downstairs too. Slept in because it was darker!!!!! Loved the screened porch so Kasey could play ball safely. We planned to cook on the fire-pit, but ran out of time (hope to go back). Larry was such a nice guy and he and Joyce provided such a nice, clean get-away for us! Thanks!!!!!!"

"Our Family Reunion consisted of 13, 11 adults and 2 children. Our stay at the Boyd villa was perfect! There was plenty of room for us to spread out and the Big Canoe area provided many activities. We loved the Big Dining Room table where we enjoyed our family dinners. Seating on the deck and feeling the lovely breeze and seeing the view of the lake was heavenly! We have many memories of this lovely home and we thank the Boyds for sharing it with us. We would definitely recommend this home and if we have the opportunity we would come back! Edna B"

"My husband and I, our 2 year old twin grandsons and some longtime friends enjoyed a wonderful vacation at My Back Porch. Everything about this cabin is wonderful...the decor, the well equipped kitchen, fabulous front and back porches with open porches all gated--very important if you have little ones or pets. The cabin was so tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. We found the cabin to be great for children as well as adults. We loved the 4 wooded acres and walking through the forest. I would advise anyone to stay at this cabin and my family and I look forward to returning!"

Comfortable home, well furnished, gorgeous view; 4.5 stars
"This is a wonderful place for a get-away. The view of the lake is lovely and changes constantly with the Sun, clouds, rain, fog, and wind. Every time you look, the lake and mountains have taken on a new personality. It's a great place to view the Fall colors.
The house itself has all the amenities a couple needs to allow them to just relax and enjoy the privacy, the view, and the clean fresh air.
The road up to the cabin is 'interesting'. I've driven roads with hairpin turns before so I had no trouble climbing the steep, narrow road in my manual transmission Mazda. You don't need a jeep. But be aware it could be a challenging climb for inexperienced drivers.
I gave this place 5 stars, but there are a few minor 'misses' that could be easily fixed:
1. Both coffee makers require the Melita #4 V-shape coffee filters, but the only filters provided were the standard Mr Coffee type. I made small pots of coffee to avoid an accident.
2. NOT ENOUGH TOWELS. (??) I could only find 2 set of towels for each bathroom. That was ok for our morning showers the first day, but what about using the Hot Tub that night? And what about using the shower and hot tub the next day? Guests should NOT have to wash and dry the towels every day.
3. GREEN firewood. Really green. I've used fireplaces for years, and even though I brought firesticks and kindling to get the logs going, I still wound up with a room full of smoke and had to open the door and windows. It took about 2 hours for the wood to dry out enough to really start burning hot before I could think about adding any more logs.
4. The hot tub cover can't be fully lifted off. I had to lift it mostly off and hope it didn't fall back on us. The lights in the hot tub weren't working. The plastic step to get into the hot tub is kind of 'cheesy'. It needs to be replaced with a larger, solid set of wood steps.
--These 4 items aren't show-stoppers. Visitors just need to be aware - but more importantly the cabin owners ought to make these few changes so that the cabin can get the SIX stars it deserves."
