"Big Canoe was beautiful, great cabin, cozy and comfortable. In the tree tops, quiet with great view. We sat outside a good bit and just enjoyed the surroundings. Enjoyed the activities on property, we hiked, swam, played some golf and hit the outlets not to far away, everyone was very nice and helpful. The owner was great to work with, gave awesome info for the trip in a timely manor and the cabin was stocked appropriately. Great getaway!"

"Wonderful family adventure. Plenty of room and space to move around in with 18 people it was truly amazing! We had many kids with us who scouted around the premises and enjoyed the amenities Big Canoe provided. We hiked to the falls and other trails, swimming and kayak and boarding on the lake included. The kitchen was a dream, stocked well and we opted out of the paper plates cause there is plenty dinnerware to go around and a fantastic dishwasher. Worth the adventure, would not hesitate to go back one day. The owner of this property has been extremely accommodating. The listing is accurate"

Hello seclusion, gorgeous creek, & beautiful home!
"There were 8 of us (4 adults & 4 kiddos) that vacationed here for 5 wonderful nights. The cabin is so homey & has plenty of blankets, pillows, towels, etc. The "noisy" creek is just a stones throw from the house and so much fun to play in. We spent 2 of our 5 days there just playing in the creek. We were pleasantly surprised to find some intertubes there but by the end of the trip 3 of the 4 had gotten holes so we replaced them with new ones from Walmart which was about a 10 minute drive away (they had the same exact $4 tubes).
Beds & futons were very comfy. AC & grill worked great. Kids had a blast in the hot tub. Kitchen had everything we needed (although 1 can opener stripped when I attempted to use it the first time & the backup would barely even puncture the can we were trying to open.....I told the owner though so hopefully that's taken care of). Beware of everyone trying to take a warm shower around the same time of day though since the hot water runs out but that might not be an issue if you have a smaller party. Cabin was very clean for the most part. Each day I'd notice something new around the home. The owners have really gone above & beyond in decorating it with the bear theme. I just loved it!
Each bathroom has a hair dryer & 1 extra roll of TP so we definitely had to buy more. Same goes for paper towels....only 1 roll was given. They provide a bar of soap for each bathroom but that's the extent when it comes to toiletries so bring your own.
This cabin is pretty secluded which I loved. Also, with the 3 levels it allowed me to "get away" if I wanted. We saw some deer and a couple of cranes while we were there. Thank goodness no bears!! But I'm sure they were out there since you are definitely in THEIR backyard. ;-)
If you're up for a fun, mild to moderate hike then try Bear Creek Trail. It's all canopied which was so wonderful since it was July in Georgia. Uuugghh! Even more reason to be happy we had a cool creek to jump in once we got home though! And bring the bug spray people. A lot of it! Another fun place was Build An Arc Animal Rescue. The kids loved it since they got to pet all kinds of animals including bunnies, pigs, horses, baby deer, & goats. And the pony ride was free! It was VERY hot & humid when we went though so I don't think I'd do it again unless the weather was cooler.
Owners were great. If we visit Ellijay again this cabin will be on the top of my list to book again!"

"A fully stocked kitchen with supplies for food prep, storage, laundry and clean-up chores. It was obvious that the owners do want their guests to feel welcome and to make sure of that they have fully stocked the unit with things like laundry detergent, aluminum foil, plastic wraps, ice in the ice maker, loads of towels, soaps, toilet tissue. The unit was clean and inviting when we arrived. We were returning to Big Canoe visiting friends and playing some golf. Our stay could not have been more comfortable. We recommend this particular unit and owners without any reservations. We will be returning for sure. Thank You. Chris and Sue"
