"We really enjoyed Christmas in the mountains. The cabin was basically what you see in the pictures. It was nice, with a beautiful setting. The river is beautiful. We enjoyed marshmallows over the fire pit, and hung Christmas lights in the living room and on the back deck. It could use a little paint inside and maybe some deep down cleaning on floors and stairs/railing. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean. The only thing that really bugged me was when I turned down the comforter in the upstairs queen bedroom, it was very dirty on the underside. Old stains and new ones...like someone had gotten in the bed with chocolate or something...you could just tell that the comforters don't usually get washed. I had to take all of the bedding off and put it to the side. I think the sheets were laundered, but I would recommend bringing your own blanket/pillow. We didn't complain, but I'm sure if we did, they would have taken care of it.
Rec Center: It was pretty nice. Big heated pool, tennis, basketball, gym. Our family enjoyed it. Make sure you have your guest card when you go. The lady at the rec center was rude and dismissive, but later apologized. Downtown Elijay was nice.
The person handling our check in and payment for the cabin was very nice and accommodating. Overall, it was a good cabin and we enjoyed our stay there. If you have someone who doesn't handle stairs well, they should stay in main floor bedroom. The basement bedroom and upstairs bedrooms, and firepit/jacuzzi involve quite a few stairs"

"My wife and I had a great time at River Rest. It was very relaxing and we really enjoyed our long weekend there. It's a beautiful cabin, inside and out. The river is great and you can hear the rushing water any time you're sitting on the deck, in the hot tub, etc. I can't say enough good things about it and was not ready to leave. There are neighbors but there are so many trees around that it still feels really secluded and only one of the neighboring cabins had people in it the weekend we were there. Once you enter the resort, it's a ten minute drive or so to the cabin, most of it paved but some of it gravel. I would recommend an SUV but I did see cars doing it too. All in all, great stay. Would definitely return!"

"We enjoyed returning to this fantastic getaway with several couples and friends. A lodge nestled in the mountains overlooking beautiful Lake Blue Ridge, this is a great place to relax with plenty of things to explore within a short drive. If you're looking for a comfortable, clean, amazingly beautiful decorated mountain escape, you need look no further. Check out the photos as they show the beauty that can't be described. Master suite bedrooms were so unique and the bathrooms featured granite countertops, separate jacuzzi tub and shower. Heated floors added to the luxury and were a favorite of ours! All were beautifully decorated and extremely clean! The guys loved watching football games downstairs relaxing in the 4 leather recliners. The girls even enjoyed watching the game on the other TV that was downstairs too! The welll-equipped kitchen was appreciated as we had several meals there. There were also great restaurants nearby. The balconies on every level have the most picturesque views of the lake and mountains. We will definitely return again to this wonderful rental lodge!"

"We stayed for 3 nights to get away from the daily grind and this cabin was perfect! Great views on the top of the mountain as well as secluded away at the end/edge of the top. The cabin was cozy and very relaxing! It has everything you could think you would need for your stay, with an excellent movie collection, and set up for entertainment as well. Down town blue ridge was a short ride away; an awesome little town with great restaurants and very welcoming. We went fly fishing on the Toccoa River and a couple of hikes as well. There is a bunch to do close by if you wanted the mountain adventure however; just lounging at the cozy retreat was excellent so it was hard to decide. Everywhere we went was enjoyable!! Thanks Dave for a great stay, we hope we can stay again soon!!!"
