  • Very cozy and perfect for 2. you do not need anything else

"This perfect little cottage was set back in the woods. It is almost like a studio set up. It has one bathroom one bedroom and a seating area for watching tv. Plus the mini fridge and microwave. The bedroom is not in a separate room but all open--That is what we loved about it. When there are only 2 people why need anything more. The owner Charlie was great. He was so welcoming. He let us know where things in the area were located. If I was to go back to this area I would not book anywhere else but this cabin. Some of the cabins in the area charge a large amount for taxes and cleaning. The price for this cabin is all included. I hope you decide to stay here as you will not be disappointed. Charlie was great and cannot thank him enough for being so welcoming!! We are in our early 20s and enjoyed it so much so if you are looking for something simple and relaxing like we were this is the place. We had a glass of wine or two every evening, and a bonfire to wind down from the day of exploring! (exactly what we were looking for)"

  • Happy Campers

"We visited Firefly Creek for a week this summer and found it to be a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of our Florida lifestyle. The creek was so peaceful and we truly enjoyed the firepit and hot tub. We took day trips to local towns and so enjoyed watching the tubers as they floated down the rivers. this location is really convenient to many sights and trails. It was absolutelty beautiful and so quiet. Thank You for sharing this piece of paradise with us and our family!!! As a side note... we did cook most of our meals at the cabin and would have been able to use more and larger skillets for cooking breakfast there were plenty of pots and pans for everything else. Also the trash can is rather small to accomodate 9-10 people. Other than that the place was absoloutely great and we would highly recommend it."

  • Wonderful Experience!

"Very nice house! We couldn't have asked for more. Mountain on Youth was a very nice home for our stay in early April 2013. This spacious home is beautifully decorated and very family friendly. There are three bedrooms with queen beds and an additional bedroom on the lower level with two twins. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need, and the two family rooms (one with a ping pong table), give you plenty of space to relax and enjoy. On the main level, the sun deck has a very nice grill, table and chairs to eat or relax, and adjoined is a relaxing screened in porch with wicker cushioned furniture. The lower level has a wrap around shaded deck with a hammock to relax. The house sits on a corner lot, with a nice area for pets to roam a bit (there was even a tie-down for the dog off the lower deck at the time of our stay.) We were very pleased with the decor of the home, it was tastefully decorated. Cleanliness is another fine attribute at Moutain on Youth. The house is conveniently located near the pool/lake area and a shortcut to the Jeep Trail/walking path. We thoroughly enjoyed our springtime stay at this property and would love to return again sometime! We enjoyed our time in the home as well as the time we spent fishing on the lake, while renting the pontoon boats. We enjoyed horseback riding at Stillwater Farms, it was a true learning experience for the novice horseback rider. We liked the convenience of the neighborhood grocery store.(IGA). Big Canoe is an extremely hospitable community. This was our 2nd time at Big Canoe, and we already have plans to return!"

  • Secluded, Private, Relaxing...Heavenly!

"We had a wonderful stay in GA at the cabin as a pit stop on our way to Florida. Wish we had stayed here longer. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The property is absolutely stunning, open and spacious. Our small dogs loved the vast yard and walks around the pond. We saw wild turkey, deer on our walks in the woods, Canadian Geese, Bumble Bees, and now I know how "bull" frogs got their name! Sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs and listening to the sounds of nature ... a view of the pond and surrounding woods with a stream running alongside the property ... this place has so much to offer for nature lovers. Away from it all; it was absolutely delightful. We took the row boat out and caught some small pan fish (blue gill), catfish and a couple bass that broke the fishing line. We also went on an adventure hike in the woods. Beautiful!! This was our first trip to Ellijay and we would definitely go back. We drove through town; so quaint and adorable with plenty of antique shops to keep visitors busy. We stocked up on groceries, did some thrift shopping and headed to the cabin for a peaceful couple of days. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious, the only thing I was missing was a cheese grater. A screened in porch or door would be nice too, but we were quite pleased with what the property offered. My husband and I have Verizon wireless phone service and we had little or no reception, but Wifi was helpful when we needed to communicate. Highly recommend for anyone needing to get away from it all, or a family getaway. I would definitely come here again."
