  • Wonderful view of night sky and ocean expanse.

"Great view of the full moon! Fun to eat breakfast of local bananas and fresh pineapple and local coffee with rising mist of the ocean in full view over the hill. Darren, the caretaker, was very helpful and shared macademia nuts, sugar cane and bananas with us. Appreciated washer, dryer and gas stove. Hand washed dishes, so didn't use dish washer. Comfortable beds and puffy covers. Warm showers. Appreciated focus on off grid sustainability. Snorkles beach chairs, and cooler available."

  • Ono hale filled with aloha

"Nestled in lush, up country greenery, Skandia has every convenience beautifully presented. The owner has gone out of her way to provide a most pleasant experience. The accommodations were outstanding; very comfortable & homey. Picturesque views of the observatory. Would go back in a heart beat."

  • BREATHTAKING!

"Don't read this if you're coming to use your new golf clubs, or plan to be seen with the elite at a five star resort. BUT, if you want to stay awhile in one of the world's most beautiful and private locations, don't miss the opportunity to come here. After you pass through electric gates and travel down the private lane, you'll pass grassy fields with several cows and a couple of horses belonging to the owner who lives in the only other home sequestered on this large property. You'll park your car in the garage containing a washer and dryer for your use and ascend a staircase that opens on a large deck with gorgeous views of the coast. We took all our meals on this deck and found it hard to leave. Entering the nicely decorated home you will find a number of surprises awaiting you; beautiful tropical flowers, tropical, fruit chocolate candy, Kona coffee beans, etc. The owner, Richard, is one of the most pleasant persons I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I could go on and on, but the two fingers I type with are growing tired. Give youself a real Hawaiian treat and come to this fantastic property. Robert Small"

  • Great location-Gracious host Family

"We travel to Hawaii every Jan toescape the cold and snow. What a great place and location this is to do that! We wanted to be in place that met those goals but was peaceful and quite this place sure hit the mark! Wow, this area met those objectives in grand fashion. The blue house is very well constructed, the view of the ocean from the very private deck is gorgeous. We were able to make great day trips easily from this location and return in the evening to the comfort of this well appointed home. The host family was gracious and very helpful in advising us on things to see and do... A great fit for us."
