  • A beautiful stay.

"We wanted to go explore the Norhtern side of the big island and ran into this little place in our search. We were so happy to have had the opportunity to stay at the Blue Lotus. Breakfast was a perfect start to the day beautiful yard, ponds, fountains etc. the room was very comfortable and good size. The hospitality of the owners was the best one could expect. We will be back."

  • Perfect location....Perfect hosts

"We were first-time travelers to the Big Island and never had booked with VRBO. After finding this site, followed by phone conversations with Rachel, we took the plunge and booked for three nights. Without any qualification whatsoever, this property met our expectations of a "laid-back" Hawaiian experience, just as the local residents like it. Whether you shop the farmers markets in Hilo and Waimea, hike along the North Kohala coast, or just relax on the lanai with a glass of wine and binoculars, you won't be disappointed. Rachel and Chris complement these experiences by offering the perfect balance between privacy and genuine hospitality. Give them a call !"

  • Amazing views, lovely house, perfect escape

"This was by far our favourite place on the island. We stayed in four places over two weeks. The views were amazing. The kitchen was fully stocked. The welcome fruit basket was very aloha. The bathroom had everything we needed. The hot tub didn't have strong jets but was great for a soak in between the infrared sauna and cold shower! This space is lovely. We loved the walk down to Waipio beach (pack a lunch and stay the day) and the town of Honoka'a. The People's Theatre and all the local stores and cafes were awesome. There is no reason to head to the other side of the island! We stayed only 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. It only rained a bit a night and one afternoon. The rain seemed to stick to the higher elevations and not dump on us at the plantation house. I really recommend this place for everyone. Kids would love to run around in the orchard (oranges, lemons, limes, rabutans, bananas, papaya, mango and more!) and others would appreciate the peace and quiet. The road is directly outside the house and you can hear cars going to and fro outside the house probably to Waipio Valley outlook but this was faint and we really didn't care; the views were too captivating. The evenings and nights were so quiet and the night skies were stunning!! The house is on a naturopathic clinic and spa retreat but there was no one there while we stayed. Only two caretakers were there and we barely saw them. The hard wood floors were lovely. Everything was lovely and private. We hope to come back to visit again! The owner and his secretary at his naturopathic clinic in California were both delightful to deal with while booking! We recommend a stay at the plantation house!"

Honokaa Travel Tips

Relax Away Your Vacation in Honokaa Vacation Homes

Some people vacation to do things; they want to run around and live a life that they couldn't ordinarily live in another place. People go to New York City to rush around shopping. Others go to the Caribbean to dive deep into the blue sea. And some want to travel to Europe to climb high into the steeple of a 15th century cathedral. For others though, a vacation is a place to get away from it all. Some people want to relax on a beach or stroll down the main street of a quaint small town. Those people want their vacation to be a break from the hustle and bustle of regular life. And for those people, Honokaa lodging is the place to stay to achieve that perfect rest.

Spend Your Break Relaxing in the Sun

Honokaa is a small town with a Hawaiian vibe. Honokaa vacation homes allow for relaxing walks through the historic main street. You can shop at the farmer's markets for all the freshest produce from the nearby farms and return to your Honokaa lodging and prepare a feast. It is also a mere two miles from the coast so you can easily spend your vacation relaxing in front of crashing waves with a fresh papaya in your hand. Why rush around through crowds just to buy a shirt or watch when you can feel all your cares and concerns melt away with the sweat on your back?

See the Beauty of the Hawaiian Coastline

Big Island vacation rentals in Honokaa are about ten miles from the Pu'u O Umi Natural Area Preserve for when sitting on the beach becomes too exhausting, and you want to wander around a lush tropical paradise. No matter how you choose to spend your time at Honokaa vacation homes, it is guaranteed to be relaxing.
