  • A bit of Old Hawaii

"This was a relaxing ending to our trip. The home is beautiful and the grounds are breathtaking. The small bench at the end of the property is perfect for a morning cup of coffee or an end-of-day glass of wine. The spa and sauna are a plus. The caregivers were available but respectful of our privacy. We would highly recommend this property."

  • Great ocean view and deck to enjoy the view!

"Good central location to use as a base to see the island. Kona side is a bit of a drive but worth the drive. House equipped with almost everything you could want or need. House had good (efficient) layout to maximize space and provide convenience for the guests. Everything was clean and neat. Everything functioned except the coffee grinder. Fantastic location near the black sand beach and Waipio Valley. Owner was extremely helpful prior to the stay with information and details about the house. Would stay again!"

  • A great place as advertised

"We have spent the month of February in the perfect cottage at the Cox acerage. We were looking for a quiet place to escape the cold of Calgary and we can't think or a better place. The warmth of tha Hawaiin climate is exceeded only by the warmth of the welcome and caring of Rachael and her family. We hope to repeat our stay next year. All of the usual attractions of a tropical climate are within an easy drive. There is a lot to see on the Big Island. Waimea is cowboy country like southern Alberta! We felt at home there."

  • Wonderful Experience

"This is a wonderful little get away up in the green hills with a quaint lane and bridge. It is a great place to watch the birds in the yard and enjoy the flowers, but the best part is that you feel so cared for. Karin provides a wonderful personalized assortment of goodies for breakfast and snacks. There are fresh flowers everywhere (unless you are allergic). There is a wealth of cooking utensils, pots and pans. We enjoy cooking at home and this made it easy. The Cottage was one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. When we return we would want to stay here again."
