  • A place that will live in your heart

"It's hard to add any more details as the other reviews describe it very well. So I'll just tell you that every time I looked up from reading or cooking or relaxing on the bed, the view took my breath away. This is a place to sink into, to allow yourself the time to feel the rhythm of life there. We stayed in 4 different VRBO homes on the Big Island, all beautiful, and most with more amenities, but this is the one that I will come back to. We took a tour of the Waipio Valley just minutes from the house, and loved it. Next time we will have the tour drop us off and spend more time there (the tour from the art gallery nearby will drop you off and then pick you up on one of their later tours). Thank you Kristan for sharing this amazing home on VRBO!"

  • Perfect stay!

"My wife and I spend the first 3 nights of our honeymoon here and it was the perfect way to start. The location is great! It's far enough off the beaten path that we had plenty of privacy and quiet but also in a great location for exploring so much of the island. We didn't spend much time at the house because we were out exploring but the time we did spend was exactly what we wanted. The views are amazing and the cottage and property are very well kept. We loved picking fresh fruit from the orchard in the morning for our breakfast and Paula and Dan were great hosts. If you're into hiking there's no better place than Waipio Valley and you can walk there from your front door. We did this on our first full day and were lucky enough to see wild horses on the beach. It was an amazing trip from start to finish!"

  • A bit of Old Hawaii

"This was a relaxing ending to our trip. The home is beautiful and the grounds are breathtaking. The small bench at the end of the property is perfect for a morning cup of coffee or an end-of-day glass of wine. The spa and sauna are a plus. The caregivers were available but respectful of our privacy. We would highly recommend this property."

  • Wonderful Experience

"This is a wonderful little get away up in the green hills with a quaint lane and bridge. It is a great place to watch the birds in the yard and enjoy the flowers, but the best part is that you feel so cared for. Karin provides a wonderful personalized assortment of goodies for breakfast and snacks. There are fresh flowers everywhere (unless you are allergic). There is a wealth of cooking utensils, pots and pans. We enjoy cooking at home and this made it easy. The Cottage was one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. When we return we would want to stay here again."
