  • Exceptional! Wonderful hosts!

"The Jodo temple seemed like a home away from home. We were able to instantly relax and feel comfortable the minute we walked through the door. The view from all the windows was breathtaking. The sound of the ocean, the rain at night and the birds in the morning only confirmed that we were in the right place to feel refreshed and invigorated. There is so much to explore on the tropical side of the island. Laupahoehoe Point, the farmer's market and the Vanilla Company was just a start to so many other things that were off the beaten path. Our hosts could not have been more hospitable. They were available for advice and assistance when needed and by the time we had to leave we literally felt as if we were family and ... we became especially attached to Larry Lawrence, the cat. The beautiful fresh tropical flowers that lined the walkway to the front door was a favorite detail. The homemade gelato made by the owner, well, a must! I think we have found paradise!"

  • Amazing amazing amazing

"My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon- and my only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. The house is accurately represented in all the photos online, with unbelievable views and walking distance to the Waipi'o Valley lookout. The place is immaculate, the owners Kendyl and Flip are so extremely nice and so are their dogs... The accommodations were perfect, so clean and sweet and romantic, we also LOVED the chirping of the frogs all night it was something we had read a few complaints about but really it was magical to us. I hope we get a chance to go back and stay with them again- it was everything we expected and more!!"

  • Beautiful Place

"The highlight for my family (girls ages 6 and 8) was the waterfall on property. It's a short, very jungle-feeling hike up the stream to a surprisingly high waterfall. There were mosquitoes waiting for us there, but even they couldn't ruin the experience. The home itself is in very good condition, my kids enjoyed the loft area, and the views of the ocean, when clear, are beautiful. Good access to things like Akaka Falls and Wapio Valley. We also recommend the farmers market in Laupahoehoe. One thing to be aware of is the weather. For us, it was rainy and cool (lows around 60, highs in the mid to upper-60s) for most of our three days. I'm not sure how common that is this time of year, but since it was only for part of our trip, we didn't mind. The plus-side of that is that it's all very lush and green. Overall, we loved this place."

"This was an absolutely lovely house! Wish we could have stayed longer. It was equipped with just about anything you would need for a stay and the deck views are stunning. Thank you!"
