Wonderful inland stay
"We wanted to try staying somewhere inland for the first time and we loved it. The cottage was comfortable and we loved feeding the pig. Such a lovely place. We walked a short distance up the road and visited the Hawaiian Vanilla Company (great vanilla shakes). We went to Honoka'a several times. Such a darling town. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. My husband and I loved it."

"The Cliffhouse provides an incredible view like none other that we have experienced, the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean is literally within a few feet of the lanai. Being 800' above the water adds to visual impact. We found the Cliffhouse to be well stocked with provisions, especially the kitchen; you will want for nothing except the food that you need to bring with you (Foodland in Parker Ranch is recommended). It is incredibly private and very quiet at this location located on a 2-acre plot directly above the ocean. We have rented a number of vacation homes in the past so have benchmarks to compare against and the Cliffhouse will be the first rental that we have ever desired to return to. Simply a wonderful experience."

"My husband and I spent the last two nights of our 11 day trip to the Big Island here at the Hideaway. After driving down the long driveway and turning into the carport we were blown away by the view before us. Easily the best view on the island (or any island for that matter). The house itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved falling asleep to the sound of frogs, although earplugs did come in handy at one point as we slept with all the windows open. It was amazing to wake up early and just sit up in bed to see the view. The house is about 9 miles from town so while it's not too far it may be easier for some to get food and eat meals at the house. There is a fully equipped kitchen (although no microwave) that would make it convenient to prepare meals. We did that our second night and had a great time sitting in the yard and looking at the view while having dinner. The house is about 1/2 mile from the Waipio Valley lookout and it was a very easy walk to the lookout and then a not so easy (but definitely recommended) walk to the beach below.
In addition, we loved meeting Lani the dog. We were missing our two dogs at home and to have Lani come around often was a nice touch. She spent an entire afternoon hanging out with us in the yard and even fell asleep on the porch when we went to bed. When we awoke she was wagging her tail at the door about 2 minutes later. She is a super sweet dog who isn't a fan of bananas, but really loves malasadas and pizza crust. :-)
I would highly recommend this wonderful property!"

"Off the beaten track, lovely location and residence. The large back yard orchard was a plus. It led down to a quiet bench over looking the ocean. The Hot Tub was private. We enjoyed all 4 days, we wish we stayed all 10. Location to Honokaa and the Waipio Canyon is perfect. If you are looking for something that is not a typical condo on the west side of the Island - then you should definitely try this location."
