Would return in a heartbeat!
"My family of 4 (girls ages 9 & 11) along with my parents (70s) stayed here for 4 nights in mid-June. We didn't know exactly what to expect of the house or the area, but we were pleasantly surprised. I forgot that the house doesn't have a/c, and when we arrived in late afternoon, the house was hot (naturally, because it was closed up). I was really concerned that we were going to roast, but after opening up the windows and letting those trade winds come through, it was delightful. And sleeping with those winds flowing through the house was unforgettable (with the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the birds singing their songs).
The house is beautiful. I particularly appreciated all the beautiful woodwork and artwork. The kitchen is well-stocked, and it was nice having some basics already there. The linens are plush, and the pillows are quality. I really can't think of anything I would change about the house or the stay. We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and just sitting out on the deck watching the ocean and listening to the world go by was so peaceful and relaxing. Oh, and the stars at night! The sight brought tears to my eyes (we never see a sky full of stars in the city).
We considered a few different properties for our trip, but I'm so glad we chose this one! Would love to return during whale season. I think we would never leave the deck!"

"This is our second time staying at Hulili Farms. The first was two years ago, and it was paradise. Yet, I'll admit, when I was booking our second trip to Hilo, I looked at other properties in the area just to see what else was out there. I found plenty of great places in this area, but nothing and I mean nothing compared to what I knew was waiting for me at Hulili farms. Sheree's banana bread alone puts this property above all others. But past the bread, the property offers amenities that the other's didn't. Many places looked like they were furnished with someones old cast offs, but here the cottage is comfortable and homey with a well stocked kitchen. And nothing beats sleeping out on the hanging bed and listening to the rain. The location is perfect. 20 minutes into town for what ever you need, and then back to privacy. The drive along the Hakalau coast is breathtaking. You're basically in a rain forest. It also gives easy access to the rest of the island. We even went to the southern most tip of the island and it didn't feel far. Sheree has this wonderful knack of being around when you need her yet you would never really know someone else is living on the property. Beautiful views of the ocean and access to the water is just down the hill. For our next trip, I'm going to save myself the time of exploring other options and just book Hulili farms."

"We enjoyed our stay. An expanse of ocean can be seen from the bedrooms, dining room and the screened porch. The yard is gated, large and private. The pool is a big plus. The home is located in a semi-rural area a short drive from Hilo and near a botanical garden. The house and grounds were well maintained. Checking in and out were easy. We will return."
