  • This is my idea of Paradise!

"The road to the property is reminiscent of old Hawaii with canopies of trees and gently flowing streams that give way to an open clearing where this home is located. Only a few minutes from Hilo but you feel a million miles away from everything. The ocean view greeted us as we excitedly entered the house to the sound of Hawaiian music they had left on for us. The house had every comfort you could ask for and my kids particularly enjoyed the closet full of toys and foosball table on the back patio. At night, the sound of rain lightly tapping on the sky lights was relaxing and made for a good night's sleep. On our second morning, some cows were grazing just over the fence from the backyard and my wife and kids had a ball taking pictures with them. My only regret was that we didn't get more than two nights here as we had stayed at several places on the island. Next time I'm on the big island I will spend more days on the Hilo side enjoying the beauty and laid back pace, and this house will be at the top of my list for places to stay! Linda was a great host and called to make sure we had everything we needed. When we left, my wife had forgotten an article of clothing and she was kind enough to mail it out to us. That tells me Linda will go the extra mile to make sure your vacation is special! Thank you!"

  • SEAWATCH SHINES

"The description and information listed about Sea Watch is spot on-so I am giving you OUR thoughts rather than repeating information. WE LOVED OUR STAY. This was our second visit to Sea Watch. We were there in December of 2013 which was a little too early to whale watch. But this year we saw 30-50 whales. The highlight being a whale so close to the house we could hear it breath! Sea Watch is a home whose back door is 90 feet from the ocean and you can hear the melody of waves breaking on rocks day and night. The home itself is very nicely maintained and extremely clean. The house is very bright and cheery. The ocean views out the back of the house are great-on a windy day you can have sea spray reach the back door! We rent property to be on the ocean-not 1 street away from the ocean and Sea Watch definitely meets our needs. Fishing poles are available (in the closet) if you want to step out the backdoor and try your luck. The owner "Sam" is very nice and very responsible to your needs. If you have a problem she will solve it. We had the TV stop working one evening. Sam came over and tried to get the set to work. After failed efforts she was going to buy a new TV set right then so we could watch TV that night! What other Property Manager does that? We enjoyed the house and its location so much that we would sight see a day and then stay at Sea Watch the alternate day. An important feature of Sea Watch is that it is a premier property with a very reasonable rental rate! John Ramos Sequim, Washington"

  • Hula and Adventures for Four at Paradise by the Sea

"This was the best accommodations we've ever had on this side of the Big Island. The guest house was roomy for four with 2 baths and kitchen, in a tropical setting with ocean view, and close to sights and activities. Location is ideal for relaxation and homebase for adventures up and down the coast. We came to Hilo to attend the Merrie Monarch Festival but we also managed to squeeze in trips to the Mauna Kea summit at sunset, Volcanoes National Park, Akaka Falls + Honomu, nearby beaches, swimming with the turtles at Carlsmith and of course local cuisine. We miss the coqui lullabies already. My daughter recorded the coquis (and birds in the rainforest) to remind her of the sounds of the island. We hope to come back again in the future. Mahalo Sandy and Bob for sharing the house with us."

  • Tucked away comfort

"Checked in on a Saturday, stayed for 5 days. The house is -very- comfortable. All the basics, and very well taken care of. Wifi's included--bonus for checking directions and nearby locations. Just outside downtown Hilo, and yet neighborhood is -very- quiet. House was cool at night and got nice sun during the day. Bathrooms were very spacious and kitchen was very-well equipped. The only downsides were: there was a washing machine and dryer (very helpful!), no laundry soap was provided. With not being able to travel with it, we had to buy some and then leave almost a full bottle. Same thing with dish soap. Felt like a waste :( . Other than those 2 things, the property is very nice, well-located, and very comfortable!"
