  • Great accommodations, well-located for main sights

"The pictures are accurate of the inside of the house. It is a lovely bungalo with lots of light, clean and very well taken care of. It does sit in the middle of a clearing, so it does not get shade and can get hot in the afternoon. There is good cross ventilation, though, and effective ceiling fans. The kitchen is well supplied with utensils, there is a tv and DVDs but no internet. The host, Linda, is friendly and helpful. While living room and kitchen windows do not have curtains (no real reason to since there is no other building visible and only one car went by on the private road to the house in our three days there), there are blinds in the bedrooms. The setting is beautiful, feeling very tropical. The house is about 2 to 3 miles off highway 11, roughly a third of the way from Hilo to Volcanoes National Park. So it is relatively close to Hilo, the volcano, and to Pahoa and Puna. We would certainly go back another time."

  • Home away from home

"We enjoyed the condo. It was taking care of very well. Fully equiped. We would recommednd this property to family and to friends. We loved shopping in downtown Hilo from the farmers market, eating at restaurants and all the shops."

  • Thank You Kepi!!!:)

"My family and I stayed in the Honu 2 for two nights and could not have asked for a more comfortable suite or for more accommodating hosts. Jim and Kepi have created a lush tropical oasis with all the creature comforts of home. The style, art work and vibe of the place was truly treat and getting the opportunity to meet Jim and Kepi and talk story on the lanai in the morning while drinking coffee was one of the highlights of our trip. We also enjoyed the closeness of Hilo and the Puna district which had many great places to eat and some extremely wild and scenic coastline vistas. I should mention that the eastside has been inhabited by the coqui frog and when show up you may be surprise by how many and how loud. I personally am a light sleeper and had absolutely no issues with it as I was lulled to sleep by the sounds of the universe. Finally on the business side Kepi was extremely accommodating to our needs and quick and prompt with all correspondence. Thank you again Kepi we truly enjoyed meeting you and Jim and our stay at the Honu 2."

  • Spectacular Superb Spacious!

"Four of us spent a week at this fantastic, two bi-level spacious home. Even though it the occupancy is for 6, there is much more room for more. I agree with the property description, photo and posted reviews. I like the privacy and gated entrance. The property is well maintained by separate lawn and pool services. I had the pleasure of meeting the friendly couple who cleans the house. Even though I have not had the privilege to meet Randall, the property manager, I would like to commend and applaud his services, promptness in replies and communication. Kudos to you, Randall."
