"This house is spotless and has absolutely everything you need. There was a little "welcome packet" on the table with a can of Aloha guava nectar & macadamia nuts. The bed was more than comfortable with plenty of extra pillows, and another light blanket in case you get chilly at night. It's true that this house does not need air conditioning. Even during the day, it stays in the low-mid 70's, if you keep the windows open. At night it can drop to anywhere in the 60's. The medicine cabinet was stocked with sunblock, huge bottle of aloe, band-aids, lotion, cream, etc. We purchased our own supplies from the store so we wouldn't bleed the house dry, but it was nice having those extras on-hand for convenience. The bathroom is very, very clean, has a nice hot shower, and the closet is stocked with plenty of towels. There is also a landline phone for local calls; Verizon gets absolutely ZERO service. The refrigerator looks brand new and is also spotless. There are plenty of spices in the kitchen cabinet and also some different kinds of tea. Plenty of dishes and silverware. Lots of counter space to make kabobs! The hot tub was perfect. The jet pressure has 2 settings, and you can also change the colors of the light :D
Another reviewer said that you can't see the ocean from the lanai. We could see at least the tide pools. The convenience of waking up any morning and walking 60 sec to the tide pools is priceless. On cloudy days when we got too cold to keep swimming, it was an instant retreat back to the hot tub and grilled food. There is a small (expensive) grocery store about 20 mins away, and a normal one about 45 mins away. Having the snorkel gear provided was also a huge convenience, and we used it ALL OVER that island. We drove 2 hrs across the island to visit Hapuna & Maunu Kea beaches. We drove almost 3 hrs to Two-Step, and about 1.5 to Punalu'u Black Sand Beach.
The ONLY con was that the neighborhood can be noisy. The neighbors (owners, not renters) blasted music so loud we could feel the bass from the hot tub, and literally couldn't hear our OWN soft ukulele music playing RIGHT next to us. We didn't fly 4000 miles to listen to the same Top-40 crap that's on the radio back home. I also got woken up by a screaming baby in the middle of the night; bc everyone's windows are open, it sounds like it's in the next room. But overall, if you're traveling here to snorkel & explore the island, you simply can't beat this kind of beauty & convenience for the price."
