  • We will return for sure!

"We spent here 10 nights/days at the condo around New Years Eve. The condo was the perfect accomodation related to our planned activities around the volcano. Everything at the condo was as described, the cleaning and all the ammenities fulfilled our expectations. The pool was closed due to renovations works at the backside of the building but this was not really an issue to us. Hopefully we will return soon. Thanks and best regards from Austria!"

  • Very nice place

"Hilo Hale is conveniently located about 10 minutes drive from downtown Hilo, and close to the KTA grocery store and Prince Kuhio mall. At the same time, it is set in a large garden in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable, as well as light and bright. With plenty of windows to open for a through breeze, the lack of air conditioning is not an issue. The kitchen is rather old-fashioned, but functional with the usual appliances in good working order. No oven and no dishwasher is a bit of a shame in an otherwise well equipped house, but with a toaster oven and the huge old porcelain sink we did fine. The cookware was good and there were a few staples waiting for us, but surprisingly no foil, plastic wrap, or ziplock bags. Washer and dryer are fine, although located outside and under the kitchen in a very low-ceilinged space where anyone over 5’2 would have to stoop. Laundry detergent was supplied, but nothing else. It was lovely to have a bathtub, not only a shower, in a nice bathroom. The one bathroom was enough for the two of us, but for four people there could be a bit of a traffic jam. The location is an excellent base for trips to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, to Pahoa and Puna, to the string of beaches along Kalanianaole Avenue, to the Hamakua coast, and is also quite handy to the new Saddle Road."

  • So quiet, waves put you to sleep at night

"The home is quiet. It was clean and the manager Starr was within minutes if you needed anything. It has two beautiful bathrooms. Not having to share a bathroom is always my goal. There is no stove for cooking. Didn't need it as we usually got something and brought it back. We'd sit on the lanai to enjoy looking at the ocean in the distance. You can walk to Honomu and get a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll at Ed's bakery. They are usually open at 6am. For those with the adventure gene there is a place in Honomu to book just what you want. This bungalow is perfect for two people. The bungalow does have a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave."
