"Everything about the Lopaka lodge surpassed all our expectations. Beverly thought of everything imaginable for the vacationer's needs to guarantee a beautiful, fun, stress-free stay in her clean, comfortable, private home. We were greeted with a thorough walk-through of each room & impressed with how well-stocked every room was --kitchen had everything! Bathroom had everything! Bedroom, closets, nice overhead fans & windows for cross ventilation. Lots of thought and good taste. (I didn't feel like she stocked the place with her hand-me-downs from her own home). Everything seemed new & fresh! We had morning coffee/tea on the lanai, breakfast at the table, packed lunches for our very full all day outings, either dinners out at great local restaurants (Kenichis) or fresh fish bought at Suisan market for a home cooked dinner. It was so nice to come home & rest in a quiet & private place after a long day! The only bad thing I can say about the place is that Beverly's Lopaka lodge has marred us for life, because it will be impossible to find anything else quite as nice without spending a fortune! Much love & appreciation, Cathy & Fred"

"We just spent 5 wonderful days at Rick and Faith's house in Hakalau. We chose it as it was near family and also gave us plenty of space for ourselves and our older teens. Each got their own bedroom and bath which they loved. My favorite part was the huge lanai and the otuside dining table! There is a beach park right down the road from the house which is lovely and easy to get to. Views are fantastic. We also enjoyed time at beaches in Hilo. Our favorite for snorkeling was Richardson's beach. Really special. Easy to get in to Hilo but far enough away to enjoy the quiet, the breezes and the view. House is incredibly well furnished. It looks just like the pictures. It really feels like your own place for the tme you are there. They have thought of everything. And the information they sent us of where to go and what to do was very helfpul. they have put a lot of thought and time to make your stay terrific. It's clear they really care about their home and about sharing it with others. Best part is Starr, who greeted us, explained all the workings of the house and also gave us recommendations of where to shop and what to see. She is a gem! Would love to go back again and would definately try to stay here! Wonderful!"

The house was great and seen a lot of wild life from the deck
"House was very nice and the owner was great to deal with and will help you in anyway she can can't say enough about her, the home is located on a scenic route and is well worth driving down,it is a must to get a smothie just across the road, the view from the back deck is fantastic,we have rented a lot of homes and this was one of the best,I give it 4 1/2 stars out of five, not to far from shopping in Hilo, we had a blast and would rent her home again, for us the house was worth it,I recommend you rent a four wheel vehicle, there are some fantastic places to see that you can only get to by 4 wheel and if you come here you want to see it all, don't be afraid to ask a local they are great people, have fun from wisconsin"

"We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It is away from the touristy areas, and very peaceful and quiet. It is beautiful and the sound of the waves and ocean breezes is a great combo for awesome sleep! It was a great place to branch out to see the Hilo area, and also the Puna shoreline. Nice area to walk down the streets. Would be a great place to ride a bike as well! Would love to go back someday."
