"A great house with a fabulous view! We've stayed there twice and have always been happy. Very clean, well stocked and well maintained! The property manager is always quick to respond. Great kitchen and lovely pool area!"

"This is our second time staying at Hulili Farms. The first was two years ago, and it was paradise. Yet, I'll admit, when I was booking our second trip to Hilo, I looked at other properties in the area just to see what else was out there. I found plenty of great places in this area, but nothing and I mean nothing compared to what I knew was waiting for me at Hulili farms. Sheree's banana bread alone puts this property above all others. But past the bread, the property offers amenities that the other's didn't. Many places looked like they were furnished with someones old cast offs, but here the cottage is comfortable and homey with a well stocked kitchen. And nothing beats sleeping out on the hanging bed and listening to the rain. The location is perfect. 20 minutes into town for what ever you need, and then back to privacy. The drive along the Hakalau coast is breathtaking. You're basically in a rain forest. It also gives easy access to the rest of the island. We even went to the southern most tip of the island and it didn't feel far. Sheree has this wonderful knack of being around when you need her yet you would never really know someone else is living on the property. Beautiful views of the ocean and access to the water is just down the hill. For our next trip, I'm going to save myself the time of exploring other options and just book Hulili farms."

"We enjoyed this nicely appointed condo. Very comfortable. The setting in Carl Smith beach park is really nice. It doesn't have a view of the ocean, but there is a nice view of the forest canopy. And this is a small point, but for some it will be important: you can change the input on the TV so we were able to watch Netflix movies using our Chromecast fob and the apartment wifi, which we really enjoyed."

"My husband and I spent half of our vacation on the Big Island in Hilo at this lovely residence, and the other half in Kona. Our time in Hilo was far superior to our time in the other rental in Kona. Hilo lived up to its rainy reputation (and that's coming from Seattleites), but consequently, the environment is lovely, green, and lush. Hilo is small but charming and we liked that it wasn't touristy as Kona. And, when staying in Hilo, we could not have imagined a better place than Lopaka's Family Lodge. It is in a quiet neighborhood that is conveniently located close to our favorite activities on the island: the Hawaii Tropical Garden, the Volcano National Park, and Mauna Kea. The Lodge itself was spacious, modern, and packed with thoughtful amenities like road maps, brochures, umbrellas, toothbrushes... even things like freezer mugs to keep your drinks cold! The appliances were all modern and worked well. The lanai looks over a cute garden (with an avocado tree!) and ocean views beyond. Finally, Bev is a sweetheart who welcomed us like we were close friends or family. She is even kind enough to mail me my shoes which I was embarrassed to have accidentally left behind. Thank you so much. Our only regrets are that the avocados weren't in season and that we didn't stay longer! :) We will definitely be back."
