"What a charming cottage. I fell in love with it when we walked through the door. It was perfect for the two of us. We felt right at home thanks to the kindness of Steve and Keala. Their two dogs are super sweet and love to be pet, which is perfect for me! You are close enough to Hilo to run into town for a bite to eat or to sight see, but far enough away to enjoy the country. Their property is amazing with the waterfall and barn animals. I had a chance to talk to Keala which was nice, she is super easy to talk to. But if you want privacy they leave you alone. Washer and dryer was very convenient. Overall I would love to come back and stay there again. Great hosts and a wonderful little cottage. Loved that you had fans all over which made the cottage quite comfortable. Only changes I would suggest is maybe adding a microwave and new pillows. The anniversary gift was wonderful and we are still enjoying the goodies! Mahalo"

"the owners of this wonderful place housed our entire family of eleven & was so accommodating to making sure our family had EVERYTHING that was needed & went beyond themselves. TO have a place that was cozy, clean and homey is one thing, but to have such beautiful people to come back to the room to, were like family to us. Thank you kindly to Megan & Jasper. Better than hotel life!!"

"We came up to the Big Island for a baseball Tournament and Joyce was so helpful about her rental. I called other rentals but wouldn't allow us to have 10 people in there homes. When I talked to Joyce I explained my situation and she was very understandable. When we got to the house we were amazed it was so beautiful and roomy. The only down fall was it was hot but the house has a lot of windows. We talked to the neighbors and they said yes the weather has been very hot the last couple of weeks so we can't control the weather. Our overall stay was wonderful and the kitchen area is amazing lots of room for cooking and not having to eat out every day."

"Everything about the Lopaka lodge surpassed all our expectations. Beverly thought of everything imaginable for the vacationer's needs to guarantee a beautiful, fun, stress-free stay in her clean, comfortable, private home. We were greeted with a thorough walk-through of each room & impressed with how well-stocked every room was --kitchen had everything! Bathroom had everything! Bedroom, closets, nice overhead fans & windows for cross ventilation. Lots of thought and good taste. (I didn't feel like she stocked the place with her hand-me-downs from her own home). Everything seemed new & fresh! We had morning coffee/tea on the lanai, breakfast at the table, packed lunches for our very full all day outings, either dinners out at great local restaurants (Kenichis) or fresh fish bought at Suisan market for a home cooked dinner. It was so nice to come home & rest in a quiet & private place after a long day! The only bad thing I can say about the place is that Beverly's Lopaka lodge has marred us for life, because it will be impossible to find anything else quite as nice without spending a fortune! Much love & appreciation, Cathy & Fred"
