"The condominium that we stayed at in Hilo was much more than we could have hoped for. It was roomy, clean, and satisfied our needs perfectly. In the middle of two hurricanes, we were still able to take short walks to pretty swimming ponds, and see turtles and fish everywhere. The property manager from start to finish has been helpful, informative, and considerate. We will definitely return, and look forward to our next LONGER visit!"

"Definitely a great place and we were so lucky to find this gem. Looking forward to our next visit soon! Great location! So easy to get around the island from here! Best of all feels like a home away from home ! Great hosts! Sophie, Dave and the 3 pups!"

"We are locals from Kona and "staycation" on the Hilo side. We have stayed at Uli Kai four times and will definitely go back. It is cheaper than staying at a hotel and the location is quiet and private. It is not fancy but there is a lot of space and it was clean. I don't know if the pool was heated or if it was just really sunny but it was the perfect temperature. There is also a nice big yard with fruit trees. Right across the street from the ocean.
The owner Pao makes the process so easy. She always responds quickly. I booked everything from my cell phone. HPP is about 20 min from Hilo, 10 min to Keaau town, and is also a good place to stay if you want to go to Volcano National Park."

"Hale Hamakua is a wonderful place. Very roomy. we were two parents, our son and his children 23 and 21. everyone had a bed room. You need a car to stay here. We had a van and we used it to cover the whole island. Everything we wanted to see was on the Hilo side and at the volcanos (which erupted a week after we left). The grandkids went all the way around the island. We had no interest in Kona, otherwise we did it all, The zipline was fabulous (for the kids!). Be sure and go all around the bay (south east) In Hilo. The water pump is a noise problem. I have already suggested they isolate the pipe and filters from the structure with rubber. It is a good pump that kept up with all the showers going at once. This was our second trip. The management group was excellent with good instructions. We found the house first try. We would go again and I hope we will. Jim"
