  • Excellent Snorkeling Place

"We stayed 4 days and fell in love with the place. Location is great, just across the street from the tidepools. The cottage is very clean, kitchen is well stocked with cooking gear and condiments, the gas grill was a plus. Greatly appreciated the snorkel gear, mats and coolers, beach towels that were available for use. The bed was very comfortable. The nights were serenaded by birds, frogs etc.Just loved it. Snorkeling here was SOOOOOOO much better than the Na Pali Coast in Kauai . Highly recommend IKI HONU."

  • Lovely Hilo house

"Your home is lovely. Our favorite was the ocean front sunrise every morning. We had rain for only brief period on one day. The guys loved the pool and were in it every morning and evening. the kitchen was so well equipped, we simply shopped in town and ate at home every evening. Really cool narrow country road right across the highway makes a great morning or evening walk to the beach. The house was super clean, the pool was ell maintained and the owners were promptly responsive to any questions or concerns. Next time we hope the spa will be up and running. I'd recommend the house to friends traveling to Hilo."

  • Beautiful, Clean, and Highly Recommended

"My husband and I visited last month with our two children, ages 10 & 16. This was our first trip to the Big Island, and we were absolutely thrilled when we arrived at this beautiful home. It was just like the pictures, and exactly as described. Had fun swimming during our down time, and playing games (provided by the homeowner) on the lanai in the evening. Very well maintained and CLEAN (which is a big deal to me…I consider myself VERY picky when it comes to a clean hotel). We stayed for 3 nights while exploring Volcanoes National Park, which was a very easy drive from this location. In fact, everything about this place was easy…from booking, to finding the home, to communicating with the property manager. I would absolutely return, and definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to stay on the Hilo side of the island. The only thing that could be considered a "downside" to some (but not to us)! is that it's not close to anything (restaurants, shopping, etc). It's probably a good 20-30 minute drive to most places, and a bit farther to the volcanoes. The other thing to consider is that the main living area, master bedroom, kitchen, are all on the second floor, so if you have trouble walking up stairs I would probably not rent this home."

  • Simply Amazing

"What a treasure. If you want to experience the real Hawaii, this is the place to stay. Beautiful sunrises, amazing views, breathtaking stars, rain on the roof, frogs and gecko sounds at night, peace and solitude. We spent our week on the lanai. Why stay inside when you can experience the outdoors in comfort. Watching the sunrise from the hanging bed, listen to the rain at night, enjoy a BBQ sitting in the rocking chairs, you can't ask for much more. Norm and Sheree were awesome hosts. They made us feel like part of the family. We enjoyed Sheree's fresh banana bread, greens from her garden, and fresh from the farm bananas everyday. You are far enough away from the tourists to relax, yet close enough to see the sights. Would we visit Hulili again - absolutely. Mahalo to Sheree and Norm."
