  • Home Away from Home!

"First of all, let me say that everything mentioned in the description of the home:the description itself, the photos, the amenities...all are accurate. What you see and what you read about are exactly what you get...only so much more.Everything you would need has been provided. We felt at home the comment we walked into Sam's lovely home and met our gracious hostess who talked to us about the house. Her pertinent information made settling in so much easier. Sea Watch has a magnificent ocean view and the sound of the surf breaking on the lava cliffs is unforgettable. After a day of sight-seeing, coming back to Sea Watch, sitting on the lanai and grilling fresh fish became our ritual. We so enjoyed the peace and the wild beauty of this home. There were so many places such as the botanical gardens, black beach, volcano, and farmers' markets ( and so many more beautiful sights) to visit and enjoy. Or, just to stay at home for the day and have coffee outside and watch the brilliant sunrise over the ocean take a walk, buy fresh fish for dinner and just chill. We highly recommend this home. Thanks again Sam for opening your beautiful home to us.We hope to return to it. At Sea Watch Life is Good!!"

  • Wonderful home on the Big Island

"We stayed here over the Christmas holiday, and it was a perfect place for our family of four. This is our second trip to the Big Island, and the last time we stayed north of Hilo. The location here is excellent, with privacy and spectacular ocean views, but still close enough to Hilo, Volcano, and other area attractions. The photos reflect the property quite well--well-maintained, spacious, clean, and charming. The pool and hot tub are a nice bonus, and the sound of waves crashing against the lava cliffs is amazing. Two full baths make this a perfect family getaway. We chose to put the kids upstairs and use the downstairs bedroom ourselves. The full kitchen was well-stocked with all the cookware, flatware, and service items necessary to make this your home away from home. I would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting a peaceful retreat on the Hilo side of the Big Island. Note that access to the house is north of the current lava flow making its way toward Pahoa, so there is no imminent danger of losing access via Hwy 130. The Railroad Ave bypass is convenient to the house as well, providing access to the southeastern part of the island should 130 close near Pahoa."

  • Quiet Relaxing Guesthouse

"We four friends stayed a week at this guesthouse. The owners Sandy and Bob welcomed us and were so helpful and friendly during our visit. The property is clean, well maintained and with a spacious living area and lanaii with an ocean view. One bedroom is a master with an ensuite bathroom. The other has twin beds. There is another very nice bathroom close by. There is no stove, though a hot place and various electrical appliances, including microwave, are provided so cooking an evening meal is possible. The lainaii overlooks the ocean and is a great place to sit early in the morning watching the sky brighten and the day get underway, and also in the evening as the stars come out and the frogs begin their calls. We found a lot to do nearby and the 15 mile drive to Hilo was no problem. We would use this property again. A Hui Hou!"
