  • Lovely home in tropical setting!

"We had a short three day stay at this lovely home, and could not be happier with our choice. The home is spacious, well furnished, surrounded by lush vegetation, with an ocean view, and only a short drive from Hilo. Everything one could wish for was provided. I would highly recommend this vacation rental!"

  • Good!

"* Location/View: The Lai Nani grounds are very well maintained. The entrance walk features some lovely gardens, and then down the hill towards the living spaces there is a gazebo and a great view of the ocean. They have clearly put a lot of effort into the property and it shows. As you've probably heard, the Northeast side of the island get a lot of rain, and we definitely found that to be true during our stay. Finally, the resort itself is fairly isolated - probably about 15 minutes from Hilo or any other town. This is either a good thing or not depending on what you want so just be aware. * Interior: My first impression was "wow" - the bungalows have high ceilings, and a clean, sleek design style. Be careful about leaving food or dirty utensils laying in the sink - we found that the bugs were quick to come out. I suspect this is more a problem with the region rather than this specific unit - there is a lot of lush vegetation and rain, and so there's probably a lot more bugs too! * Sleeping Experience: The blinds closed enough for the room to be "pretty" dark. The mattress was fairly comfortable but it creaked really loudly whenever we moved which made it difficult to sleep. * TV and Internet: The TV was a nice flatscreen, and the internet was easy to set up and fairly fast."

  • Outstanding

"We had a wonderful time. Terry is very responsive and has thought of the details, so the condo is very well equipped for cooking. There are masks, flippers, really great binoculars, guidebooks, beach towels and so on. We stayed a week and are counting on returning soon. The only shortcoming is out of the owner's hands: across the street are two dogs who bark for much of the day. They are quiet at night but start up early in the morning. Not too much of a problem if you are in the bedroom facing the ocean, but a drag if you are in the bedroom facing the street and the house across the way. But if you get out and explore the Big Island you won't have to hear them much."

  • Loved the Place!

"Four seniors, a couple and 2 single friends were very comfortable in this home. We enjoyed cooking in the great kitchen (that even had a salad spinner) after spending 8 days in Kona where we ate out the whole time. Not a difficult drive to Hilo and to all areas of the windward side of the Big Island. Loved picking the fruit in the yard for our morning smoothie!"
