  • Family of five

"Our family of five arrived very tired and were overjoyed to find a house clean and welcoming to us. The grounds were beautiful, lots of trees and flowers. Everything we needed except perishables was provided. The owner contacted us before we went there and was very friendly and helpful. Shirley, the caretaker, had everything ready for us, what a fun person. We would love to vacation there again."

"We stayed in the unit next to this one. It was so peaceful and clean. Wish we could rent it on a monthly basis. Would recommend to our friends."

  • Dale and Leighanns Retreat group

"WOW This is the THE place to stay on the Southern part of the Island. Sandra was so easy to work with and it was more than we expected. Yes its rustic and PERFECT for a family or a small group. We also rented the Wood Valley temple for the retreat and used this house as our headquarters. Everyone LOVED the place. We had an amazing fire at the end of the Wisdom Walk and such a heart warming closure for our group. We intend to come back and back and back as many times as Sandra will have us. As for the bugs??? Loved watching a praying mantis and a couple of spiders, very helpful in keeping other pesty bugs in check. I have stayed in the best hotels on the Island and found more bugs. You will be as in love with this place as we are. Yes the mornings can be a little chilly, 63 to 65 when we were there but as soon as the sun comes over the mountain it is 75 to 80 and PERFECT. The outdoor shower and tub are a fantastic feature. not many places can you shower and look out on palms and Flowering shrubs like you can here. My wife especially LOVED the tub and the views as she was soaking. We had NO problems with any of the equiptment and everything worked well. You have to be a little off to not LOVE this place and you WILL have the vacation of a life time there in Sacred wood valley Dale and Leighann Perry"

  • By far the nicest rental we stayed at (of 3 islands visited!)

"This was by far the nicest rental we stayed at during our honeymoon (in all of the 3 islands we visited)! The cottage itself was one of the highlights of the trip! We only wish we had budgeted more time on the Big Island to include some time for relaxation at the cottage. Anne and David were amazing hosts, offering a full tour of the grounds (unbelievably beautiful) and fresh fruits from their garden. After our initial meet and greet, they disappeared and left us with complete privacy for the duration of our stay. The pictures do not do this place justice. Not only was it beautifully decorated and well stocked, but it's also impeccably clean. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway for a honeymoon, we could not recommend this enough."
