  • Convenient, Clean and Comfortable - Beautiful Sunrises

"My brother and I stayed here for a week while working on my recently-purchased vacation house in Ocean View. I felt it was a good very good value - fully furnished and modern conveniences in a rural setting at a fair rate. We enjoyed the custom design and quality of the home. We rose early every day and took in the view of sunrises from the deck before heading off for the day's work or adventures. The driveway is very steep but is paved - a little intimidating at first but is fine once you get use to it. Ocean View is a good location for getting away from it all and for splitting the distances between the east and west sides of the island - it's not really very close to anything but it's halfway between everything. This house is a good choice for those wanting to use Ocean View and a home base, spending time at Volcano, Hilo and Kona areas."

  • Gorgeous house with very private and quiet location!

"We stayed here from May25, 2014 until June 30, 2014 while we were looking for a long term rental, and thoroughly enjoyed this home. It is so beautiful and we especially loved the kitchen, the vaulted wood beam ceilings, and glass door stand up showers. Very nice breeze throughout the day and night with the windows open. Had everything we needed and we were very comfortable there. Raul was easy to work with and very hospitable to us and made it an easy stay. If you want to explore the south part of the island, then this is the place to be. It is on the south tip and you can go east or west to Hilo or Kona. It is near South Point green sand beaches which is awesome. Volcano National Park isn't too far either. Ka'u has the macadamia nut and Ka'u coffee tasting that is pretty cool too. There is a pretty cool view of the ocean on clear days so you still feel and remember that you are in Hawaii. Huge lanai that is comfortable and keeps you dry when it is raining. We used the yoga mats and exercised on the lanai everyday with 5 of us, so it is very big! Thanks again Raul for allowing us to stay in your home and we hope others will find this review useful as well. Semper Fi brother and God bless!"

  • Quiet and great views

"My family stayed in this condo for a month in 2012 and ten days in 2013. Both stays were great. Most importantly the pictures and descriptions are accurate. The unit is well maintained, and in a great location - as the end unit you have no neighbors above you or on one side of you. The only reason we stayed a shorter time during the second visit is that we decided to divide our stay between the northern and southern parts of the island. I would definitely return to this condo, it feels so far from everything and yet it is a short drive to Volcano National Park and a little longer drive to Hilo, the Puna district and two step (all my favorite places)."

  • All of Hawaii's beauty right on the property!

"David and Anne are wonderful hosts. Their property is gorgeous, expansive, lush, quite,,,all the things that make Hawaii Hawaii. It was difficult to pull ourselves away from the cottage and ground to go out sightseeing. There are fruits of all types on the property. If you're lucky, they'll be ripe for the picking. Your hosts welcome you to take what you like and eat. The bed is beyond comfy. The shower feels great after a day of hiking. The resident cats, "Mr. Blu" especially, (we named him) are great greeters every morning. It's off the beaten path (Pahala and Hwy 11), but that's what makes it so special. The valley is tranquil and removed. We could have stayed at the cottage and enjoyed our trip...if it wasn't our first trip. If you want relaxation in the most beautiful setting, this is it!"
