  • Beauty at 1500 feet

"We just returned from two weeks on the Big Island. Our second week was in Alice's Cottage. The home is very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed, plus a beautiful patio to enjoy the scenery. The photos were a true representation of the Cottage. Alice was always available and turned us on to all "local" attractions which made our time more enjoyable. The views were outstanding overlooking the Kohala coast. Both Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea were spectacular and right in view. We were 7 miles from the town of Waimea and located on the dryer side. The house location allowed visiting Hawi and Waipio Valley an easy and spectacular drive. We suggest having barbecue at The Fish and Hog; live music and food at the Blue Dragon. Thanks, Alice!!"

  • he place is wonderful, and everyone loved it!

"Hi Pattie. We had a great time at Hale O Kip. When we walked in everyone said, "Wow, what a great place!" That was a great start for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Everyone loved the pool, especially the grandkids. The view was wonderful, and the beaches just 10 or so minutes away. We went to the Macadamia nut store and processing plant near by (ten minutes), the Kona Coffee plantation and the other sights near Kona (about an hour) and the Volcano National Park (about 90 minutes away and well worth it). However we spent a lot of time relaxing on the Lanai, or watching the stars from the roof patio (can a patio be on the roof?). Last of all, the convenience of the supermarket, drug store, etc. just a few minutes away in Waimea was a real plus. Thanks, and we will be in touch again in the future. The place is wonderful, and everyone loved it. Robert and family"

  • House Rental in Waimea - Big Island

"If we could give 10 stars, we would. During our 2 day stay, we had a bit of weather move over the island, including strong winds and heavy rain (very unusual). Jemma, the owner, was fantastic. She helped us w/rain gear (umbrellas, etc), books pertaining to the island and even brought over some homemade jam. She's a very considerate person w/a sweet house and we will definitely be looking her up our next visit to the big island."

  • Wonderful Place

"My wife and I have stayed in a half-dozen VRBOs on the Big Island, and this one has been our favorite. It's an extremely comfortable cottage, with a very clean and usable kitchen, plus substantial outdoor space. It's located in a prime spot in Waimea, just a short walk from a bakery, which made for a very indulgent stay. We cannot recommend this more."
