"This was our third stay at this incredible and unique property. There is nowhere else on the islands like it. The ocean-front surroundings are jaw-dropping. Gorgeous sunsets, sunrises, fantastic views up and down the coast (and even of Maui sometimes). Beach 69 (shady and great snorkeling) and Hapuna (sun, surf, soft sand and facilities) are a short drive away. The snorkeling right on the property is the best in all the islands, in our opinion. Extensive reef, marine life and corals, and you have it all to yourself every time. The accomodations are spacious, very clean and well-stocked. The beds are comfortable. There's plenty of towels, pots and pans, etc. The home is charming! "Vintage" is the word another reviewer used, and that sounds about right. Duke and Miriam are gracious hosts and an absolute pleasure to do business with. They make everything easy. They are around if you need anything, yet they give their guests total privacy. Best of all is the affordability. Nothing else Ocean-front in Puako can touch it. Puako itself is the perfect location for anyone wanting "authentic Hawaii", within a reasonable driving distance to shopping, restaurants and activities. Our family of 6 will definitely be back!"

"My family of 6 (2 parents, 4 grown children 24-30) stayed here and had a wonderful time! The unit is furnished very nicely and the location is great. You can walk a block to the pool and continue to the beach (A Bay) from there. We didn't have a great ocean view like you would from the higher story units, but we spent every evening and morning sitting outside on the deck and lawn and thought the lower units were much easier for accessing everything. Look for turtles sitting in the sun along the beach on the right as you walk onto the beach. Or you can take a longer walk as we did most mornings down the road on the north side of the condo 1 to a trail along the beach that winds through the Hilton properties and beyond. What a great way to start the day! This unit is also within walking distance of Lava Lava, a great outdoor bar/restaurant right on the beach. Or try restaurants in other directions from causal to formal, not very expensive (Queen's shops) to expensive (Hilton) . For something casual, try the little sports bar around the corner from the unit 1. Also, the weather here was great! Kona could be foggy or drizzly and it was sunny in this little pocket of perfect! Would gladly stay here again. Try Beach 69, but be careful swimming too far out everywhere."

"Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week on the big island, staying at the Lalmillo house. The house is so close, in fact literally on, a beautiful sandy beach, and right on Waielea bay where we were able to snorkel, kayak, stand-up paddleboard, and play in the surf to our hearts content. The location truly makes this a unique location, as we were able to spend time on the beach, then run back to the house for lunch or naps, and then back to the beach when we felt like it. The sounds of birds and the waves were a wonderful backdrop when we were eating on the deck. Leilani was great and responsive in coordinating our stay and helping us plan our vacation. We would love to return.

"This property was exceptional and suited all the needs of my family ranging in age 80 down to 18 months old. The view was stunning and the Kohala mountain breezes and nightly rain showers a nice respite from the unusual heat in Kona and Hawi. The house was outfit with everything we possibly needed, and those items we didn't think we needed but were certainly glad to have. The spirit of Aloha certainly resides here and with the wonderful host Jileen who filled the home with fresh fruit, flowers, and little touches like lotion and soaps. The star gazing from the large patio is the best I've experienced, including from middle America farm country! We loved the separate living spaces (great for afternoon naps for young and old) and enjoyed cooking breakfast or dinners in the well stocked kitchen before or after we headed out to explore for the day. Although the home is further away from the Volcano and Kona than some places, it was near to all the lesser known gems we cared to visit while on the Big Island and set alongside one of the most scenic drives in the Islands. We couldn't wait to come home each day. The friendly insects and animals only added to the charm--we've fondly nicknamed the bull "Ferdinand." The house is well designed and seemed larger than it actually is-- gazing at the view of Maui's Haleakala out the bathroom sink window as you get ready for the day was a treat. The only negative was poor cell phone reception from our carriers, but the WIFI worked great. Thank you for the wonderful home and your hospitality. We can't wait to return to this little slice of Big Island heaven!"
