"We just returned from 10 fantastic days at KaMilo on the Big Island. The layout is ideal for two families - lots of space and it easily accommodates both adults and children to have places to go. Loved the open air concept and having the doors wide open to flow between the in and outdoors. We took advantage of the BBQ and the gorgeous kitchen - loved cooking in it! The facilities have a great work out area as well as two pools which we used daily. The home is so well equipped with everything from beach chairs, toys, boogie boards, umbrella, beach bags, to flat screen TV's in literally every room. Its definitely a good idea to rent a car so you can explore the many beaches near by and take advantage of sightseeing! We loved the Beach Club which is short drive away as well as Hapuna Beach for body surfing. The shops at Mauna Lani are a short walk away and have some great restaurants, market for last minute food items, fantastic smoothie and vegan options as well! We couldn't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time!"

"This was our families first visit to the Big Island. After camping for 10 days on Spencer Beach - this condo was like a dream! It is spacious, airy and very comfortable. It was so easy to get very relaxed in and had all the amenities we could imagine. Our children were thrilled with how close it was to the pool. The location is amazing - so many places to explore within a very short walking distance. We would definitely recommend this to friends and would love to stay here again."

"Full Disclosure..........I've known the owners almost all my life and have stayed at 82 many times. So, can I give a fair review? I think so.
If I had one more trip in me before getting too old to travel it would be here. Why? A lot of reasons, but basically, location, location, location. The other reviews are all 5 stars and give many of the reasons why, all of which I agree with. It is always a joy to walk over the bridge across the pond behind the house and see one of the most majestic views you can imagine. You are literally one step away from what is essentially a private sandy beach. It's not private of course but, it is far away from the public beaches so there are no crowds of tourists. The only people you generally see are a few of the people staying in nearby homes and they are just walking by and not sitting down on your beach. From the big deck you step onto the beach where there are several coconut trees to provide shade, Adirondack chairs where you spend a lot of time enjoying the gorgeous weather, the awesome scenery and beautiful sunsets. Then there are the Green Turtles, lots of them laying around in the shallows feeding or sleeping. They have pretty much lost their fear of humans so you can get quite close to take great pictures. If you are lucky you can find yourself swimming along with them in the deeper water. It's awesome. Oh, then there are the Whales. Literally every day during the winter months the Whales can be seen swimming back and forth not far offshore. They often breach and trust me, that is spectacular and I have the pictures to prove it. There have been nights when it is quiet and the wind is not blowing and you can hear the Whales as they come out of the water and splash back down. Amazing to listen to. At night as you are lying in bed drifting off to sleep the sound of the waves gently rolling across the reef is something you won't find in many places because you are so close to the beach.
So, all that being said, 82 is not for everyone. It is a small, old and rustic essentially one room house. There is a kitchen/living room, one full bath, one half bath and two bedrooms separated by the large bathroom, which are more alcoves than separate rooms so privacy is limited. Then there is a large covered deck and one step to the beach. Kitchen facilities are adequate. It works great for a family or two couples (especially if you are really good friends)."
