  • Nice stay at this Waikoloa beach condo. We felt at home.

"The condo is located near the end which allows for privacy and quite evenings. Yet the BBQ and pool are conveniently close. If you like to exercise there is a gym, but we found that an early morning walk around Queens Market courtyard and along the golf course to be a more pleasant exercise. This property is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable with a serene garden area off the lanai for enjoying the morning coffee or an evening after a day of beach or sightseeing. The condo's kitchen is well stocked. The Pack and Play was helpful with our grandchild. This condo is especially good for a family with small children since it is on the ground floor. Barbara, the owner is very responsive to phone calls and texts. She very helpful with information and making sure you have what you need for your stay. The Queens Market and Kings Shops are a quick walk where you find shops, a food court and restaurants. "A" beach is close by. You can walk it in a few minutes or drive and park in the lot in a of couple minutes. If you like to avoid driving 18 miles to Kona for groceries at Costco, Walmart, Safeway, there is the Waikoloa Village a few miles away where you will find the Waikoloa Village Market which offers a large selection and better pricing for groceries than the markets at the Queens Market or the King Shops. Also at Waikoloa Village is the Lava Cafe which has nice outdoor seating to relax and have a meal. You can get there by exiting Waikoloa Resort and turning left (north) onto Hwy 19 (Queens Hwy). Go a couple miles and turn right onto Waikoloa Drive and continue until you see Waikoloa Village on the left. If you plan to sight-see around the island allow yourself an early start so you can get back to this condo and relax. It was a great place for us to relax and enjoy the end of the day."

  • Fabulous for families with kids

"We were two families with a total of 3 school-aged kids. The house was spacious, bight, spotless and beautifully appointed. The kids had a blast in the pool and we all enjoyed dinners on the back patio with the view of the sunsets. We ate most meals at the house and loved the fully-stocked kitchen, as well as the big outdoor BBQ. We also enjoyed the early morning walks around the Kohala Ranch, where the house is located (before it gets too hot and it's time to head to the beach). The sweeping views are spectacular! Be sure to drive up to the "top" of the ranch to actually see the ranch's cows, enjoy the views and appreciate the difference the higher altitude makes. While the drive from the Kona airport was not quick (40 min), getting to the many fabulous Kohala beaches was a quick 15 min drive. Be ready for the sounds of the wind at night, but this is story in all of Kohala and you get quickly get used to it. NOTE: We are recommending this for families with young children meaning school-aged kids rather than babies or toddlers."

  • Puako Sweet spot

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a great place for kids and families. The property manager is often on site and so helpful and kind. She even brought us aloe from her garden when the grandkids got a sun burn."

  • Awesome location!

"We rented this house for ourselves, our son and daughter in law and toddler. The location in Puako is perfect! We could swim between the rocks in a sandy section just down the beach, explore tide pools right in front, and snorkel with the numerous turtles without driving. Within driving range, a mere 5 minute drive away, are three beautiful and unique beaches -- Beach 69, Haupuna Beach, and Mauna Kai Beach (in front of the resort but open to public). Puako has a small general store, but nearby Waimea has everything else one could need, including a great brew pub -- the Big Island Brewhaus. Mostly, we enjoyed our location so much we were happy sitting on the sea wall enjoying the tropical breezes and incredible sunsets. The house is not new or fancy or remodeled, which we were fine with. There's a lot to be said for a beach bungalow! It was clean and comfortable and had most everything we needed including beach chairs, towels, etc. There is an ant issue in the kitchen which we were aware of from reading other reviews -- a very typical problem on the islands and not a big deal to us. The lawn area is perfect for a toddler and the sea wall was helpful as a border to the bay. We loved putting our chairs up on the sea wall and watching the turtles swim and come ashore each evening. We would definitely return and continue our explorations of the Big Island! Thank you for a wonderful stay!"
