  • All ready planning return trip!

"My family and I stayed in this wonderful home for five days this past March. The house is well appointed, features fantastic views from the backyard, and in general is even nicer than depicted in the online photos. The pool and gourmet kitchen were particular family favorites. The house is very private and peaceful while also being conveniently located – the Mauna Kea beach is only a few minutes drive away, as are restaurants and stores. We would definitely rent this property again, and in fact are already planning our next trip!"

  • Big Island

"Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a great property and with access to both the Mauna Kea pool and beach as well as Hapuna, it affords a very relaxing vacation. The property is very close to a fitness center and pool accommodating both kids and adults. Our only suggestion would be to replace mattresses in two of the three bedrooms and find a way to supply better water pressure in the showers. Check in and check out were seamless and the management company is very helpful."

  • Exceeded our expectations!

"This was our 3rd time to the Big Island, and 2nd time with our family (3 kids under age 10). We brought one set of grandparents too, so there were 7 of us total. We enjoyed working with the condo owner Bill; he was very helpful, responsive, and accommodating. His onsite manager is a real pleasure to work with. The condo is very spacious and furnished beautifully. The kitchen was very well equipped and we used the grill on the lanai several times. Parking was limited and tight but adequate. The amenity center with a beautiful pool and hot tub, work out room and community room was very close by. It was quiet, comfortable, and the VIEW! AMAZING!! The proximity to the Hapuna and Mauna Kea Beaches was exactly what we were after. We paid the extra fee (arranged through the condo owner but paid directly to the hotel) to have access to the hotel pools and towel service. Totally worth it. The Mauna Kea Hotel's poolside and ocean lounge chairs get "saved" early in the day which is frustrating. That didn't seem to be the case at the Hapuna Beach Hotel though. Stop at Costco right after landing and buy yourself a boogie board. You'll get tons of use out of it if you spend any time at these beaches! The Mauna Kea luau was fun. They don't advertise it much but there is an option to go to just the show and skip dinner. When we compared the dinner + show cost vs. just show, we decided dinner is NOT worth it. The kids were happier eating at the condo and the show was worth every penny. Both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince Hotels offer a breakfast that is to die for in a setting that is just so beautiful. Casual dining options are expensive and limited near these beaches, which is another reason a condo was a MUST for us this time around with the family along. We considered the Waikaloa Beach/Kolea Condos, Mauna Lani Condos, Private Homes in North Kohala, and others. I am SO GLAD we stayed at Mauna Kea and in this particular unit. It was AWESOME."

  • Wonderful vacation home!

"We just returned from a weeklong stay at this wonderful home in the Mauna Kea resort. The condo itself was just as shown in the images, with a quiet location on the Hapuna golf course, and great views of the ocean, Kewaihae Harbor, and the Kohala mountains. We enjoyed the amenities in the condo - the double mast suites, the fully equipped kitchen, and the great lanai with the outdoor kitchen. The resort was even more impressive with two great beaches and two very challenging and fun golf courses. You could very easily spend the whole week taking advantage of the beaches at both Mauna Kea and Hapuna - relaxing in the beach chairs and cabanas, swimming in the ocean, snorkeling in each area, or kayaking and stand up paddleboarding. The trail between the two beaches is also fun to walk, and you can see some quite amazing homes along the oceanfront. Sunday brunch at the Mauna Kea was one of the best we have ever had, and the luau at the Mauna Kea was fun for the whole family. When we did leave the resort there is more to do than can be possibly fit into a weeklong visit. We snorkeled at Two Step by Place of Refuge, did the Zip and Dip tour by Kohala Zipline in Hawi, etc. With family from 16 to 76 on the trip we had activities for everyone, and a great base from which to do that. We would love to have the chance to come back to stay here again!"
