  • home away from home

"Stayed in this Palm Villa unit for a few nights at the beginning of November 2014. Very spacious for 5 adults and 2 young kids. Beautifully decorated and feels very homey. Well stocked with towels and beach equipments. Very close to some shops including a grocery store. Owner is very accommodating and organized. One minor complaint is that the two twin beds are not comfortable for us. That could be because we are more used to memory foam mattress. So my husband ended up sleeping on the couch in the loft. Will return if we go to big island again, and will certainly recommend it to friends and families."

  • Absolutely fantastic!!

"We had the pleasure of staying in your beautiful home for 7 days in March and cannot begin to thank you enough. The house is perfectly set up to accommodate a larger group. There were 8 adult in our group and each couple felt as though they had their own private space, not to mention spectacular common space. The gourmet kitchen, pool and outdoor bar area were perfect for gathering together and socializing. The house is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your vacation from beach towels and chairs to boogie boards and bikes. The house was immaculate when we arrived, the pictures cannot capture the beautiful views from this house, it is breathtaking. Communication with the owner was a breeze. I hope that we can gather the same group and book your beautiful house for next year. Thank you again it was a trip we are soon not to forget! Mahalo!"

  • Great condo...private but close to wonderful beaches and good locations for day excursions

"My husband, 10-year-old son and I stayed here for eight nights early April. It was our first visit to Hawaii and I would recommend to anyone staying in Hawaii for more than three nights (don't know who would bother flying all that way for fewer) to NOT stay in a hotel. It is possible to do Hawaii on somewhat of a budget...but staying in a condo/villa where you can prepare meals is crucial...eating out is EXPENSIVE! This condo is lovely and HUGE! Much more than enough room for the three of us. The kitchen was well-equipped with appliances, dishes, utensils, some staples...sugar, spices, etc. Appliances are high-end, place is clean and nicely decorated. We felt very much at home and relaxed and looked forward to our evenings in the condo. Plenty of beach/pool towels in the unit and the washer and dryer were great to have...we were able to pack very light. I've seen apartments that could fit in the master bath! The location is awesome. Beaches are a very short drive away...could even take a longer stroll to the beach if you wanted. You are VERY close in this complex (The Fairways) to Mauna Kea...which has the BEST beach and no crowds. It's a 5-star hotel beach and they only give out 40 public parking passes a day...we always got there before 8:30 am and always got in...that's about as late as I'd go...even earlier on the weekends. Good snorkeling...we brought our own masks and snorkels but there were some at the condo...and fins, which was nice. There was a boogie board to use as well...my son used it the whole time. Just about every day we'd eat breakfast, go to Mauna Kea, come back to the condo for lunch, then head out exploring other beaches/points of interest. So nice to come back to the condo in the evening and have a swim in the lovely and never-crowded pool. The pool, grounds, and units themselves are all well-maintained and very quiet. You're a quick drive to the shops at Waikoloa and Kona is an easy drive. Shawn was great to deal with...always responded to my emails/texts quickly with questions about the unit/area. We will definitely visit the Big Island again...ideally would get this unit, or at least another in The Fairways...and definitely get something through Shawn. Thanks so much!"

  • Amazing Unit - Just Like Home!

"Palm Villas bring us back to Kona year after year. Like last year's post, I research a lot. I'm picky, very picky, and Palm Villas is perfect for our family with three teens. Why Mauna Lani properties? Simple - the Mauna Lani Beach Club access to the private beach with covered cabanas, crystal clear water, an amazing on-site restaurant, stand-up paddle board and canoe rentals and an uncrowded sandy beach where you can take a 7am dip with no one around but a honu and some fish, or watch an evening sunset while floating on your back in warm ocean waters in a cove out of the wind. Why Palm Villas condos versus Golf Villas or any of the other complexes at the Mauna Lani property? - Palm is across the street from the spa. - Palm has 8 buildings to share the pool. Golf Villas has more and pool is more crowded. - Palm pool has never had more than 3 other people in it at any time we've gone. It is bath water warm with stairs in for little kids, 3' depth and 4' depth. Perfect options for all. - Palm his closest to the path to the private Mauna Lani Beach Club and is a 15 minute walk through the lava and koi ponds on a paved walkway. - Palm is closest to the Mauna Lani shopping complex (grocery store, Tommy Bahama Grill, ...) and you can easily walk the two blocks home after a successful happy hour or for a morning coffee. - And a big reason we chose Palm for both visits was our unit's owners, who were great to work with. Pool: Open 8am - 9pm it is the perfect size, always empty, clean and has a very hot, hot tub and waterfall with a bench behind it to sit. Location: We love it up north. We drive south to Alii and Kona for the farmers markets and cooked almost every meal in the well stocked units. The outdoor BBQs are clean and perfect with an overhead fan keeping you cool as you sip drinks in the evening. This location has a full-sized washer/dryer and the upper lanai has gliding chairs, which I loved. Downstairs lanai is the bbq and outdoor table. Free wi-fi. A small shed filled with umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards, snorkels, noodles and anything you'd need. Both units have extensive DVD collections, many games for the kids to play, bookcases with books and truly it is just like home."
