"My husband and I have visited Hawaii maybe twenty times - I've lost count - and this condo definitely rates at the top. It is very well decorated and furnished. We cooked almost every night and I didn't find anything lacking in the kitchen. I really appreciated the rice cooker. We bought some really nice fish at the nearby Foodland Market to grill. Christine left salt and pepper, oil, and some seasonings in the pantry. That is very nice. You wouldn't believe the number of condos that don't even have salt!
The view in the back isn't as bleak as the pictures might depict. There were a variety of birds living there. There were some partridge type birds that make really odd calls and some bright solid yellow finches called saffron finches. We had a full moon setting out there.
We mostly relaxed, but spent one night in Hilo to visit the volcanoes. It made a much less hectic trip since it's about two and a half hours to Hilo and we got to the volcanoes before the busses. Don't miss the art gallery at the visitor center.
We didn't eat out much, but there are a lot of wonderful restaurant s in the area. We had two wonderful lunches at Merriman s in Waimea. We had a nice lunch at the lodge on Kilauea volcano. Shopping for groceries is much easier in Waimea and The Kings Shopping center. We went to Safeway in Kona, but that was a hassle with traffic and distance. There's a Longs Pharmacy in Waimea.
We definitely would rent this house again, and probably will. Christine, the owner, is very nice, and Robin, the property manager is very nice, efficient, and accommodating."

"We just got back from our third stay in Gail & Dave's beautiful Fairways condo, and once again, we wished we never had to leave! The kids, ages 3 and 7, loved having their own beds (the change to two twin beds in the second bedroom was a win for us!). The condo is clean, nicely appointed, and well-located, with everything you need in the kitchen, all the beach stuff in the garage, and several different spaces for family hangouts -- it was beyond wonderful to have breakfast together out on the lanai every morning. We went to the beach club every day (the kids stayed more or less on California time the whole two weeks, which meant we always had our choice of the cabanas -- ha!), and grilled on the awesome Viking range outdoors most nights. I recommend this condo to everyone I know (although I hope I don't generate *too* much demand, so we can still have "our" place again each summer!). Mahalo, Gail and Dave, for the Aloha!"

Incredible! Not like the rest, definitely the Best!
"We booked this VRBO for a week-long stay after a business colleague recommended the area. We were looking for space to sleep 3 adults and 2 children comfortably. We wanted a kitchen and laundry facilities as well as amenities such as a pool, groceries and convenient beach access. The condo had it all and was amazing. It was air conditioned and extremely clean. Nicely decorated and up-to-date with modern entertainment systems in all three bedrooms and living room. It had easy access fast wifi connection and ample kitchen utensils, basic spices/condiments and modern appliances. Simply luxurious. The location was beautiful, convenient and quiet. The lanai off the master bedroom overlooking the garden and pool was serene, and the granite countered outdoor kitchen with barbecue and dining table made for great atmosphere for some easy, casual meals while the kids threw the football in the garden area like it was our own backyard (because it was). Access to the pool was a 10 second walk off the lanai kitchen and the owner was pleasant and accommodating ensuring we had all keys, articles and access we desired. The garage fit the jeep we rented and the beach items including boogie boards, sand toys, mats and umbrellas were handy to grab and go. We highly recommend this place and will stay there for sure on our next visit to the island."

"What a beautiful, bright, spacious condo! There was plenty of sleeping room for 6 adults and one toddler, plus we managed to fit 9 of us on the lanai for our fun-filled dinners every evening. The view and quiet atmosphere from the lanai off the master bedroom was wonderful. We spent a great deal of time on the main floor lanai and enjoyed how peaceful it always was. We have been to three of Hawaii's islands a few times now and this is our favourite resort and condo. The Palm Villas is so nice and quiet and the pool is amazing - such beautiful surroundings, warm water and always very quiet.
The entire Mauna Lani resort is a welcoming oasis in the middle of the lava with marvelous walking paths and bike lanes. We looked forward to our walks through the fishponds and around the resort every day.
We would like to be able to keep this condo and the Palm Villas our own little secret, however, according to how quickly it books up, the secret is obviously out! For those of you thinking of visiting for the first time - you are in for a real treat!!"
